उत्तर प्रदेश में 11 फरवरी को 73 सीटों पर प्रथम चरण का चुनाव होना है। प्रथम चरण के चुनाव में सभी प्रत्याशियों ने अपना नामांकन दाखिल कर दिया है। वहीं इस चरण में उतरे कई उम्मीदवारों के बारे में जानकर आप हैरान रह जाएंगे। जी हां... पहले चरण में उतरे कई प्रत्याशी करोड़पति हैं, तो कई के खिलाफ आपराधिक मामले दर्ज है। चुनावी मैदान में उतरे कुल उम्मीदवारों में से 302 उम्मीदवार करोड़पति हैं, जबकि 168 ने घोषित किया है कि उनके खिलाफ आपराधिक मामले भी दर्ज हैं। असोसिएशन फॉर डेमोक्रेटिक रिफॉर्म्स की एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, '836 उम्मीदवारों में 302 करोड़पति हैं, जिनमें बीएसपी के 73 में से 66, बीजेपी के 73 में से 61, एसपी के 51 में 40, इसके साथ गठबंधन कर रही कांग्रेस के 24 में 18, आरएलडी के 57 में 41 और 293 निर्दलीय उम्मीदवारों में 43 ने एक करोड़ रुपये से ज्यादा की संपत्ति घोषित की है। यूपी चुनाव के पहले चरण में चुनाव लड़ रहे उम्मीदवारों की औसत संपत्ति 2.81 करोड़ रुपये है।

उत्तर प्रदेश विधानसभा चुनाव में बीजेपी के प्रचार के लिए पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष अमित शाह शुक्रवार को मेरठ पहुंचे। यहां एक चुनावी रैली में उन्होंने कांग्रेस और समाजवादी पार्टी के गठबंधन पर जमकर हमला बोला। हालांकि, उन्होंने अपनी प्रस्तावित पदयात्रा कैंसल कर दी है। सपा सरकार पर निशाना साधते हुए उन्होंने कहा कहा कि मेरठ में व्यापारी अभिषेक की हत्या और बिगड़ते कानून व्यवस्था के प्रति विरोध जताने के लिए उन्होंने यह कदम उठाया है। शाह ने कांग्रेस और समाजवादी पार्टी पर हमला बोलते हुए लोगों से बीजेपी को वोट देने की अपील की। वह बोले, 'कांग्रेस और एसपी का गठबंधन प्रदेश को लूटने के लिए किया गया। एक ने अब तक प्रदेश को लूटा और दूसरे ने देश को, दोनों शहजादों ने यूपी को नुकसान पहुंचाया।' चुनावी रैली को संबोधित करते हुए अमित शाह ने महिला सुरक्षा को लेकर भी प्रदेश सरकार पर निशाना साधा और महिलाओं को पर्याप्त सुरक्षा देने की मांग की। अमित शाह बोले, 'हर कॉलेज में ऐंटि-रोमियो दस्ता बनाया जाएगा, जिससे हमारी बेटियां सुरक्षित रह सकें।' शाह ने प्रदेश में अपराध के बढ़ते ग्राफ पर चिंता जताते हुए मथुरा कांड, हत्या और रेप के मामलों पर बात की।
