ഡേറ്റ എണ്ണയല്ല വെള്ളമാണെന്ന് ഫേസ്ബുക്ക്
കഴിഞ്ഞ പല വര്‍ഷങ്ങളായി പടിഞ്ഞാറന്‍ ടെക്‌നോളജി വിദഗ്ധര്‍ പറയുന്ന കാര്യമാണ് ഡേറ്റ പെട്രോളിനെ പോലെ പ്രാധാന്യമര്‍ഹിക്കുന്ന ഒന്നായി തീരുമെന്നത്. ഇതേ വാദം ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ധനികനായ മുകേഷ് അംബാനി ഏറ്റുപിടിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യക്കാരുടെ ഡേറ്റാ ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ തന്നെ സൂക്ഷിക്കണമെന്നാണ് അദ്ദഹം വാദിച്ചത്. എന്നാല്‍ ഇന്ത്യ സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കുന്ന ഫെയ്‌സ്ബുക്കിന്റെ വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റായ നിക്ക് ക്ലെഗ് പറഞ്ഞത് ഡേറ്റ എണ്ണയല്ല മറിച്ച് വെള്ളമാണ് എന്നാണ്. ഇന്ത്യക്കാരുടെ ഡേറ്റ വിദേശ കമ്പനികള്‍ കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നതിനെതിരെ രാജ്യം നിയമനിര്‍മാണം നടത്തിയേക്കാമെന്ന വാര്‍ത്ത പരക്കുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് ബ്രിട്ടന്റെ മുന്‍ ഉപ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി കൂടെയായിരുന്ന ക്ലെഗിന്റെ പരാമര്‍ശം
ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റില്‍ ഇന്ത്യക്കാരുടെ ഉപയോഗം മൂലം സൃഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഡേറ്റ, സമൂഹ മാധ്യമങ്ങളില്‍ കൂടെയാണെങ്കില്‍ പോലും രാജ്യത്തിനു വെളിയില്‍ പോകരുതെന്നായിരുന്നു റിലയന്‍സ് ഇന്‍ഡസ്ട്രീസിന്റെ ഉടമ കൂടിയായ അംബാനിയുടെ വാദം. എന്നാല്‍ എണ്ണയെ പോലെ ഒരിക്കല്‍ തീര്‍ന്നുപോകാവുന്ന ഒന്നല്ല അത്, മറിച്ച് വെള്ളത്തെപ്പോലെ ഒഴുക്കേണ്ട ഒന്നാണ് എന്നാണ് ക്ലെഗിന്റെ പക്ഷം. ഇതിലൊരു വളച്ചൊടിക്കല്‍ ഉണ്ട്. എണ്ണയെ പോലെ പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ളതാണ് ഡേറ്റാ എന്ന വാദം കൊണ്ട് ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത് അതിന് വിലയുണ്ട് എന്നാണ്. അമേരിക്കയും മറ്റു ചില രാജ്യങ്ങളും ചിലപ്പോള്‍ വ്യക്തിയുടെ ഡേറ്റ ഉപയോഗിക്കണമെങ്കില്‍ പ്രതിവര്‍ഷം നിശ്ചിത തുക ഓരോ ഉപയോക്താവിനും നല്‍കണമെന്ന നിയമം പോലും കൊണ്ടുവന്നേക്കാം. ക്ലെഗിന്റെ വാദം മറച്ചുപിടിക്കുന്നത് ഇതാണ്. ഡേറ്റാ വെള്ളമാണെന്ന അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വാദം ശരിയാകുന്നത് എങ്ങനെയാണെന്നു ചോദിച്ചാല്‍, എണ്ണ അഥവാ പെട്രോളിയം ഉല്‍പന്നങ്ങള്‍ ഭൂമിക്കടിയില്‍ നിന്ന് ഒരിക്കല്‍ ഖനനം ചെയ്തു തീരാം. എന്നാല്‍ ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റ് ഉപയോഗം വര്‍ധിക്കുന്നതോടെ ഡേറ്റാ ഉത്പാദിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു വര്‍ധിക്കുകയെ ഉള്ളു എന്നാണ് അദ്ദേഹം പറയുന്നത്.
ഉപയോക്താക്കളുടെ ഡേറ്റയ്ക്കു വേണ്ടി കടിപിടി കൂടുന്ന വന്‍കിട കമ്പനികള്‍ സൗകര്യപൂര്‍വ്വം മറച്ചുവയ്ക്കുന്ന കാര്യം സ്വകാര്യ ഡേറ്റയിലേക്കു കടക്കാനാകുക എന്നത് അവര്‍ക്ക് അനിഷേധ്യമായ മുന്‍തൂക്കം നല്‍കും എന്നതാണ്. ചെറിയ കമ്പനികളെ ഇല്ലായ്മ ചെയ്യാനും എതിരാളികളുടെ വളര്‍ച്ച മുരടിപ്പിക്കാനും അടക്കമുള്ള പലതിനും ഈ ഡേറ്റാ ഉപയോഗിക്കാം. ഇത്തരം ആരോപണങ്ങஇவரால் News60 ML| 36 பார்வைகள்
