പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ക്യാരിബാഗുകള് നിരോധിക്കാമെന്ന് ഹൈക്കോടതി
സംസ്ഥാന സര്ക്കാരിന് അധികാരമുണ്ടെന്നും കോടതി
സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ക്യാരിബാഗുകള് നിരോധിക്കാമെന്ന് ഹൈക്കോടതി. ഇതിന് സംസ്ഥാന സര്ക്കാരിന് അധികാരമുണ്ടെന്നും കോടതി വ്യക്തമാക്കി.പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് നിരോധനം ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് ഓള് കേരളാ റിവര് പ്രൊട്ടക്ഷന് കൗണ്സില് സമര്പ്പിച്ച ഹരജിയിലാണ് കോടതിയുടെ നിരീക്ഷണം. പൊതുതാല്പര്യത്തിനായി പരിസ്ഥിതി സംരക്ഷിക്കാനുള്ള അധികാരം കേന്ദ്രസര്ക്കാര് വിജ്ഞാപനം മൂലം സംസ്ഥാന സര്ക്കാറിന് നല്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇത് പ്രകാരം പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്ക് ക്യാരിബാഗുകള് സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന് നിരോധിക്കാമെന്നും ഹൈക്കോടതി വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ജനുവരി 22നു മുന്പ് ഇക്കാര്യത്തില് തീരുമാനം എടുത്ത് പുതിയ സത്യവാങ്മൂലം നല്കാന് ചീഫ് ജസ്റ്റിസ് അധ്യക്ഷനായ ബെഞ്ച് സംസ്ഥാന സര്ക്കാറിന് നിര്ദേശം നല്കി.50 മൈക്രോണിലധികമുള്ള പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ക്യാരിബാഗുകള്ക്ക് നിലവില് നഗരങ്ങളില് നിരോധനമുണ്ട്.
