Vaughan has decided to ‘step back from commentary duties following a backlash for his involvement in racism at Yorkshire Cricket Club.
The former England cricketer was one of seven cricketers at Yorkshire who were charged by the ECB’s Cricket Discipline Commission for tarnishing the game’s reputation with their alleged racist comments. British Asian cricketer Azeem Rafiq sent shockwaves around the cricketing world after he revealed the disgraceful racist comments he faced during his stint with Yorkshire.
He revealed that the former England captain was one of the perpetrators behind the racist abuses and made a comment to a group of Asian players in 2009 that, “too many of you lot, we need to do something about it”.

Virat Kohli’s rough patch in the IPL 2022 continued when he was dismissed for a golden duck against southern rivals Sunrisers Hyderabad last weekend. It was the third time this season that Kohli was dismissed for a first-ball duck and the second against SRH. He was sent back by Marco Jansen during the reverse fixture.
Commenting on the batting megastar’s horrendous form, former England skipper Michael Vaughan has come forward and said that all Virat needs to do is revisit his past and think about why he even started playing the game in the first place in order to get himself out of this phase. Giving further clarification on the same, the 2005 Ashes-winning skipper said that the 33-year-old must forget the stardom that he has achieved in the last decade in order to be in a better frame of mind.
“I hope Faf du Plessis has spoken to him and told him – ‘Go back 10 years when you didn’t have this profile. You’re not married and don’t have a kid. You’re going out there to whack the ball and have some fun. Forget your age, forget what you have done. If he gets to 35, I reckon he can go big. It’s just those initial 0-10 that he’s been struggling with. If he can get away and show a little bit of that youthfulness, he’s going to be dangerous,” Vaughan told Cricbuzz.
Virat Kohli has only managed a solitary half-century in the ongoing season and apart from that has registered two 40+ scores. The batting icon has so far amassed 216 runs in 12 matches averaging 19.64. He would now be hoping to put his best foot forward when the Royal Challengers Bangalore face Punjab Kings in their next match at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on May 13. With 14 points already in the bag, all RCB now need to do is win their remaining two fixtures in order to earn a playoff berth for the third consecutive season.

India will begin its campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam stated the reason due to which they’ll have an edge over India in the gala event.
Azam added that they have played a lot of cricket in the UAE, have a hold of the conditions, and hence, can outsmart India. It has to be noted that UAE was Pakistan’s home venue after deadly attacks on visiting Sri Lanka team in Lahore, 2009. Azam added that they just need to keep things simple to perform well in the T20I extravaganza.
“Definitely we have played a lot of cricket in the UAE. These conditions suit us and we know how to play here. We need to keep things simple in all the departments,” Babar said in a captain’s press conference when asked about Pakistan’s dismal record against India in T20 WC clashes.
