  • Altaf Bukhari inaugurates CM’s Super-50 coaching classes

    The Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Alta Bukhari today inaugurated the divisional-level Chief Minister's Super-50 Coaching Programme at Government Girls' High School Hyderpora Srinagar.

    The tutorial programme has been organized by Directorate of School Education in collaboration with NGOs Chinar International and AVANTI.

    JAMMU: Minister for Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today called upon teachers to promote sports culture in the school as it acts as greatest motivation for inculcating sense of competitiveness among the youth.

    Sense of achievement, discipline and spirit to face challenge can best be developed through sports among the youth, Syed said adding that co-curricular activities are inseparable from academics.

  • Army's 'meddling' in state affairs unacceptable: Syed Altaf Bukhari

    The Jammu and Kashmir government today hit back at Army chief Gen. Bipin Rawat over his remark that government schools in the state are spreading a "disinformation campaign" which is radicalising the youth, saying the Army's "meddling" in the state's affairs was unacceptable.

    Addressing a press conference yesterday, Rawat said each classroom in government schools in Jammu and Kashmir has a separate map of the state besides that of India which sowed the seeds of thought of some kind of "separate identity" among the children.

    "I do not know what the Army chief has said or how he said it, but what I know is that our children are not going towards radicalisation," Minister for Education Syed Altaf Bukhari told reporters here.
