Boards of Directors Increasing their Risk Appetite
We can’t deny the fact of the growing Economic Uncertainty, Competitive Threats and Cost Inflation Cited as the Biggest Risks to Business Performance. Fifty-seven percent of Boards of Directors have increased or expect to increase their risk appetite heading into 2022, according to a new survey from Gartner. The Boards of Directors cite economic uncertainty (38%), disruptive business models from competitors (35%) and cost inflation due to supply shortages (28%) as the top risks to business performance. The Survey was conducted via an online survey from May through June 2021 among 273 respondents in the U.S., Europe and APAC in a board of director role or a member of the corporate board of directors. During the pandemic, the Boards of Directors recognized that they needed to become comfortable operating in an environment of significant risk, as standing still was not an option. “This drove them to embrace the ‘try fast, fail fast approach,’ and in 2022, the Boards of Directors will continue taking risks such as making technology investment decisions with incomplete information or making financial bets without up-front visibility around a guaranteed return.
Digital Technology Remains a Top Priority and the Boards of Directors remain highly committed to digital technology initiatives, which was ranked as a top strategic business priority by 58% of survey respondents. However, this is a slight decrease from the 2021 survey. Having invested so much in digital business over the past 12 to 18 months, enterprises are taking a pause to validate their strategy and ensure ROI. For Boards of Directors, the core focus is now on technology integration and creating a more enduring and systemic digital economic architecture, where technology is infused throughout the business and drives business outcomes. New research revealed that CIOs sit at the centre of virtually every major business initiative in today’s digital-first economy, with businesses tapping CIOs to digitally transform their organizations and help shape their return-to-work plans. It found that 98% of Indian CIOs (compared to 92% in the U.S., 83% in EMEA and 94% in APAC) reported an increase in their responsibilities. While customer experience is a top focus for CIOs, the new “work from anywhere” environment has evolved CIO’s priorities to be first and foremost, employees and then customers. Today CIOs are leveraging external customer journey management practices and applying those same principles internally to enhance their own employees’ experiences.
In just a year, we all went from a world with digital capabilities to a digital-first economy, which placed immense pressure on many leaders, including CIOs—many of whom were tasked with taking on a range of new responsibilities. Besides the pressure to accelerate their organization’s digital transformation at record pace, they had to embrace their expanded role and influence as an opportunity to drive progressive digital-first programs and further collaborate with other business leaders to succeed in today’s new digital-first reality.

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) : Corona curfew has started at midnight in Himachal to prevent Covid-19 infection. At present, all the shops, except agriculture, horticulture, and building construction shops are closed across Himachal Pradesh. This curfew will remain in force across the state till May 17. Section 144 is applicable to prevent crowds of people....
शिमला। कोविड-19 संक्रमण को रोकने के लिए लागू की जा रही पाबंदियों के बीच कोरोना कर्फ्यू आधी रात से शुरू हो गया है। इस वक्त हिमाचल प्रदेश के सभी शहरों,नगरों,कस्बों व ग्रामीण क्षेत्र के तहत आते बाजारों में आवश्यक वस्तुओं, कृषि, बागवानी, भवन निर्माण की दुकानों को छोड़कर अन्य सभी दुकानें बंद हैं। 17 मई तक यह कर्फ्यू प्रदेशभर में लागू रहेगा। लोगों की भीड़ को रोकने के लिए धारा 144 लागू है। इसी बीच कोरोना कर्फ्यू को लेकर जारी आदेशों में आंशिक संशोधन किए गए हैं। आदेशों के अनुसार पुलिस ,गृह रक्षक, नागरिक सुरक्षा अग्निशमन एवं आपातकालीन सेवाएं आपदा प्रबंधन, कारागार, नगर निगम सेवाएं के साथ आवश्यक सेवाएं प्रदान करने वाले कार्यालय बिना किसी प्रतिबंध के खुले रहेंगे। इस सूची में सूचना एवं जन संपर्क विभाग को भी शामिल किया गया है। बीती 5 मई 2021 को जारी आदेशों के बिंदु संख्या 10 के भाग 4 में राज्य सरकार के आवश्यक सेवाएं प्रदान करने वाले विभागों के अतिरिक्त अन्य सभी विभागों को लॉकडाउन के दौरान बंद रखने का उल्लेख है। संशोधित आदेश के अनुसारए लॉकडाउन शब्द को कर्फ्यू पढ़ा जाए। इसी तरह बिंदू संख्या 11 में लॉकडाउन के दौरान सामान्य परामर्श के अंतर्गत प्रयोग किए गए लॉकडाउन शब्द को भी कर्फ्यू पढ़ा जाए। बिन्दू संख्या 14 में दंडात्मक प्रावधान के तहत भी प्रयोग लॉकडाउन शब्द को भी कर्फ्यू पढ़ा जाए।

देश में कोरोना महामारी ने कोहराम मचा रखा है... देश में दवा से लेकर ऑक्सीजन तक की किल्लत हो रही है... इसी बीच ड्रग्स कंट्रोलर जनरल ऑफ इंडिया यानि DGCI ने कोरोना के इलाज के लिए एक और दवाई के आपात इस्तेमाल की मंजूरी दे दी है... जायडस कैडिला की 'विराफिन' दवा को कोविड-19 के इलाज के लिए आपात इजाजत दे दी गई है... रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक दवा कंपनी जायडस का दावा है कि विराफिन के इस्तेमाल के बाद सात दिन में 91.15 फीसदी कोरोना संक्रमितों का आरटी-पीसीआर टेस्ट निगेटिव आया है। इस एंटी वायरस दवा के इस्तेमाल से कोरोना मरीजों को राहत मिलती है और लड़ने की ताकत भी आती है। अगर कोरोना वायरस संक्रमित होने की शुरुआत में ही विराफिन दवा दी जाती है, तो मरीजों को बीमारी से उबरने में काफी मदद मिलेगी और तकलीफ भी कम होगी। हालांकि इस दवा को अभी डॉक्टर की सलाह के बाद ही दिया जाएगा और दवा अस्पतालों में ही मिलेगी... आपको बता दें कि कंपनी ने इस दवा का ट्रायल 25 केंद्रों पर किया था... जिसके नतीजे अच्छे रहे हैं...

कोरोना संकट : वाराणसी में वीकेंड लाॅकडाउन, ये हैं नए नियम
वीकेंड लाॅकडाउन: उत्तर प्रदेश के वाराणसी (Varanasi) में कोरोना संक्रमण (COVID-19 Infection) के आंकड़े बढ़ते जा रहे हैं. गुरुवार को अब तक के सारे रिकॉर्ड तोड़ते हुए ढाई हजार केस एक दिन में मिले हैं. इसके बाद वाराणसी में वीकेंड लाॅकडाउन लगा दिया गया है यानी शनिवार और रविवार को वाराणसी में शराब समेत सारी दुकानें बंद रहेंगी. इसके अलावा वाराणसी को जोड़ने वाले सारे बॉर्डर पर चेकिंग शुरू हो गई है. बिना ठोस कारण और लिखित वजह के कोई भी अब वाराणसी में दाखिल नहीं हो सकता है.
वाराणसी में लगातार बिगड़ते माहौल के बीच डीएम कौशल राज शर्मा ने नए नियमों का ऐलान किया है. इसके अलावा पुलिस कमिश्नर ए सतीश गणेश और डीएम ने कालाबाज़ारी के ख़िलाफ़ कार्रवाई के आदेश दिए हैं.कोरोना के बढ़ते मामलों को ध्यान में रखते हुए वाराणसी किराना व्यापार समिति ने पूर्वांचल की सबसे बड़ी किराना मंडी विश्वेश्वरगंज को बंद करने का फैसला किया है। ऐलान किया है कि मंडी के व्यापारियों को कोरोना से बचाने के लिए 19 से 24 अप्रैल तक पूर्ण बंदी रहेगी यानी लॉकडाउन रहेगा। समित के अध्यक्ष मनोज कुमार पांडेय की अध्यक्षता में व्यापारियों ने सर्वसम्मति से व्यापारी हितों को ध्यान में रखते हुए सुरक्षा की दृष्टि से यह ऩिर्णय लिया गया है।
