पहाड़ों में हो रही लगातार बारिश से यमुना नदी उफान पर है और उसका पानी हथिनीकुंड बैराज से आगे निकलकर अब दिल्ली की तरफ बह चला है। जिससे दिल्ली में बाढ़ का खतरा और गहरा हो गया है। हथिनीकुंड बैराज से 1.59 लाख क्यूसेक पानी दिल्ली की तरफ छोड़ दिया गया है जो 72 घंटे में दिल्ली पहुंचेगा। ये पानी अगले 72 घंटे में दिल्ली निवासियों की मुसीबत बढ़ा सकता है। दिल्ली में यमुना नदी का जल स्तर भारी बारिश के बाद बृहस्पतिवार को 203.37 मीटर तक बढ़ गया जो खतरे के निशान 204.50 मीटर के करीब है। सिंचाई और बाढ़ नियंत्रण विभाग के एक अधिकारी ने कहा, ‘‘जल स्तर सुबह साढ़े दस बजे ओल्ड रेलवे ब्रिज पर 203.37 मीटर पर दर्ज किया गया।’’

गोरखपुर जिले में बहने वाली सभी प्रमुख नदियों में राप्ती और रोहिन नदी का जलस्तर बढ़ रहा है। हालांकि, दोनों नदियां खतरे के निशान से काफी नीचे बह रही हैं। रोहिन ऐसी नदी है जो एक दिन में ही कई मीटर तक बढ़ कर खतरे के निशान को पार कर जाती है। वहीं घाघरा नदी लगातार नीचे की तरफ आ रही है। इन सबके बीच सिंचाई विभाग की तरफ से तटबंधों की निगरानी जारी है।
इधर कुछ दिनों से कहीं अधिक तो कहीं कम बारिश हो रही है। इसका असर नदियों के जलस्तर पर भी पड़ रहा है। राप्ती नदी जो खतरे के करीब पहुंच कर घटने लगी थी, एक बार फिर दो दिनों से बढ़ने लगी है। फिलहाल वह खतरे के निशान से लगभग सवा मीटर नीचे बह रही है।
रोहिन नदी खतरे के निशान से दो मीटर नीचे बह रही है। नदियों के जलस्तर के घटाव के कारण कहीं-कहीं कटान भी होने लगी है। तटबंधों पर पूरी निगाह रखी जा रही है। जहां कटान हो रही है वहां उसे रोकने की दिशा में काम हो रहा है।

Tehri Garhwal (Uttarakhand), June 19 (ANI): Several low lying areas in Srinagar areas of Uttarakhand’s Pauri Garhwal submerged in water after the water level rose in Alaknanda River due to heavy rainfall. Parts of the state are receiving continuous rainfall from past two days. Landslide also occurred near NH-58 in Tehri Garhwal district.
