Director General of Himachal Police Sanjay Kundu has said that 14 tunnels are being constructed in the four-lane stretch from Gadhamora to Kullu, out of which 5 tunnels have been opened for traffic on a trial basis. Equipped devices have been installed in which weather information will also be available through metrological devices. He said that video accident detection system, variation traffic sign system, driver feedback system, emergency call boxes, vehicle radar speed system are being installed in the traffic system. He said that last year more than 12 lakh vehicles passed through Atal Tunnel Rohtang and last month 57 thousand vehicles crossed through Atal Tunnel Rohtang. The number of tourist vehicles is likely to be more than 20 lakh in this tourist season. For which additional police personnel will be deployed for Kullu district and Lahaul-Spiti.

ऊना। हिमाचल के डीजीपी संजय कुंडू ने आज जिला ऊना का दौरा कर थाना.चौकियों के साथ-साथ बॉर्डर और माइनिंग क्षेत्रों का निरीक्षण कर व्यवस्थाएं जांची। इस दौरान ऊना में पत्रकारवार्ता में डीजीपी संजय कुंडू ने कहा कि कोरोना कर्फ्यू की व्यवस्थाएं जांचने के लिए उन्होंने कई क्षेत्रों का दौरा किया और इस दौरान पुलिस की कार्यप्रणाली संतोषजनक रही है। कुंडू ने कहा कि कोरोनाकाल में सेवाएं देते हुए कई पुलिस कर्मी संक्रमित भी हुए हैं,लेकिन डयूटी से कभी कोई पीछे नहीं हटा। कुंडू ने बताया कि पुलिस नशा माफिया के विरुद्ध कड़ी कार्रवाई कर रही है और इसके साथ ही नशे के कारोबार में संलिप्त लोगों की फाइनेंशियल इन्वेस्टिगेशन भी करवाई जा रही है।

Shimla: Himachal government has appointed 1989 batch IPS officer Sanjay Kundu as Director General of Police. Kundu, is currently serving as Principal Secretary to the CM Jai Ram Thakur besides looking after the excise and taxation department. Union Public Service Commission had approved the names of three IPS officers. These included Sanjay Kundu, Somesh Goyal and 1988 batch officer Tapan Deka. Deka, who has spent the most part of his service in the Intelligence Bureau, though senior to Kundu, was not keen to return to the state. Prior to being posted as Principal Secretary to the CM, Kundu worked as Joint Secretary in the Union Water Resources Ministry. He has worked in leadership roles with the United Nations, and state and national governments. He has served as Police Commissioner in the UN System where he carried out works related to national capacity building, conflict mitigation, human rights, protection of civilians and humanitarian support.
