1863 में संन्यासी के रूप में भारतीय संस्कृति की सुगन्ध विदेशों में बिखरने वाले साहित्य, दर्शन और इतिहास के विद्वान स्वामी विवेकानन्द का जन्म हुआ था। रामकृष्ण परमहंस के शिष्य बनने से पहले विवेकानन्द कुश्ती, मुक्केबाज़ी, घुड़सवारी और तैरने आदि में भी निपुणता हासिल कर चुके थे। शुरुआत में वह ब्रह्मसमाज की शिक्षाओं से प्रभावित हुए, लेकिन वैज्ञानिक अध्ययनों के कारण ईश्वर से उनका विश्वास खत्म हो गया था l इसके बाद वह नास्तिक बने रहे और कोलकाता शहर में ऐसे गुरु की खोज में घूमते रहे जो उन्हें ईश्वर के अस्तित्व का ज्ञान करा सके l जब विवेकानंद परमहंस से मिले तो उनकी आयु केवल 25 वर्ष की थी l परमहंस से उनका मिलना मानो दो विभिन्न व्यक्तियों का मिलन प्राचीन और नवीन विचारधारा का मिलन थाl परमहंस की आध्यात्मिक विचारधारा ने विवेकानंद को विशेष रूप से प्रभावित किया। 1899 में उन्होंने अपने गुरु के नाम पर रामकृष्ण सेवाधर्म की स्थापना की l इन मठों में उन्होंने संन्यासियों को मिशन के कार्यों के लिए प्रशिक्षित किया। ज्ञानयोग, राजयोग, भक्तियोग और कर्मयोग विवेकानंद की प्रमुख रचनाये हैं। भारत में स्वामी विवेकानन्द के जन्म दिवस को राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है।

1902 में भारत के साहित्य, दर्शन और इतिहास के प्रकाण्ड विद्वान स्वामी विवेकानंद का बेलूर में रामकृष्ण मठ में निधन हुआ था। विवेकानन्द का असली नाम 'नरेंद्रनाथ दत्त' था, जो कि आगे चलकर स्वामी विवेकानन्द के नाम से विख्यात हुए। वह युगांतरकारी आध्यात्मिक गुरु थे, जिन्होंने सुदृढ़ सभ्यता के निर्माण के लिए आधुनिक मानव से पश्चिमी विज्ञान व भौतिकवाद को भारत की आध्यात्मिक संस्कृति से जोड़ने का आग्रह किया। जीवन के अंतिम दिनों में उन्होंने शुक्ल यजुर्वेद की व्याख्या की और कहा "एक और विवेकानंद चाहिए, यह समझने के लिए कि इस विवेकानंद ने अब तक क्या किया है।"
- 1916 में हिन्दी फ़िल्मों की प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री नसीम बानो का जन्म हुआ था। वह भारतीय सिनेमा में चालीस के दशक की हिन्दी फ़िल्मों की प्रमुख अभिनेत्री थीं। अपनी दिलकश अदाओं से दर्शकों को दीवाना बनाने वाली बानो को उनकी ख़ूबसूरती के लिए "ब्यूटी क्वीन" कहा जाता था। नसीम बानो की परवरिश बेहद शाही ढंग से हुई थी। वह स्कूल पढ़ने के लिए पालकी से जाती थीं। उनकी सुंदरता का अंदाज इस बात से लगाया जा सकता है कि उन्हें किसी की नज़र न लग जाए, इसलिये उन्हें पर्दे में रखा जाता था। खान बहादुर' ' डाइवोर्स , 'मीठा जहर' , ‘पुकार’ और 'मैं हारी' आदि फिल्मों में अपनी अदाकारी से लोगों के दिलों पर राज किया। हिन्दी सिनेमा की एक और प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री सायरा बानो नसीम बानो की ही पुत्री हैं।

आज राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस (स्वामी विवेकानंद जयंती) के शुभावसर पर महोबा के जिला अस्पताल में एक ब्लड डोनेशन एवं जागरूकता कैम्प का आयोजन किया गया। ब्लड डोनेशन कैम्प का शुभारंभ जिलाधिकारी सहदेव द्वारा किया गया । ब्लड डोनेशन कैम्प में वरिष्ठ समाजसेवीयों सहित तमाम रक्तदाता मौजूद रहे। तो वही पुलिस विभाग ने भी रक्तदान शिविर में बढ़चढ़ कर हिस्सा लिया और अपना रक्तदान भी किया |
रक्त दान से बड़ा कोई दान नही होता और रक्त को हम बना नही सकते । रक्त की कमी को रक्तदान से ही पूरा किया जा सकता है । हमारे देश मे रक्तदान को लेकर तमाम तरह की भ्रांतियां है लोग अपनो को ही रक्तदान नही करते है । एक सर्वे रिपोर्ट के अनुसार जरूरत के हिसाब से केवल 35 प्रतिशत ही रक्तदान की पूर्ति हो पाती है । बुंदेलखंड में रक्तदान की स्थिति और भी दयनीय है । यहाँ जरूरत की मात्र 20 प्रतिशत ही रक्त की पूर्ति ही पाती है । मंडल स्तर पर राज्य सरकार के द्वारा एक मोबाइल रक्तदान वेन उपलब्ध कराई गई है जिससे अब हम कहीं भी रक्त दान कैम्प का आयोजन कर सकते हैं । रक्तदान शिविर में डीएम महोबा ने 25 से अधिक बार रक्तदान कर चुके योगेंद्र कुमार शर्मा सहित 10 बार रक्तदान कर चुकी सरगम खरे एवं लगातार रक्तदान के लिए जागरूक अमित शर्मा को एक शील्ड और प्रशस्ति पत्र देकर सम्मानित किया तो वही रक्तदान कैम्प का आयोजन करने वाली संस्था को धन्यवाद दिया |
