संयुक्त राष्ट्र मानवाधिकार काउंसिल यानि यूएनएचआरसी में श्रीलंका के लिए बड़ी मुश्किल खड़ी हो गई है। दरअसल, यूएनएचआरसी में श्रीलंका में होने वाले मानवाधिकारों के उल्लंघन के संबंध में एक प्रस्ताव पारित किया गया है। खास बात यह रही कि भारत ने इसके लिए होने वाली वोटिंग प्रक्रिया में भाग लेने से किनारा कर लिया। जानकारी के मुताबिक इस प्रस्ताव पर वोटिंग से पहले श्रीलंका के राष्ट्रपति गोटबाया राजपक्षे ने प्रधानमंत्री मोदी से फोन पर भी बात की थी। लेकिन फिर भी भारत ने मजबूरी में आकर वोट न करने का फैसला लिया।
