Karni sena burnt car || padmaavat || ban ||

ctivists of the Rajput Karni Sena on Wednesday burnt the car of one of their own activists in Bhopal. Police have detained six people in connection with the incident.

According to a report in India Today said that the incident took place after a protest broke out near Jyoti Talkies on Wednesday evening.


The violent protest took a further murky turn when the activists torched a car- MP04 HC 9653 owned by one Surendra Singh Chauhan.

It later emerged that Chauhan is a Karni Sena activist. The report said that he stays in EWS Colony and is not financially well off.

Following the incident, police took about six-seven people to the MP Nagar Police Station. Soon after that, Karni Sena activists gathered at the police station and demanded that the police should not register a case against the protestors responsible for the incident.

It may be noted that Madhya Pradesh was one of the states to impose a ban on the release of the film.


While the Central Board of Film Certification gave a green signal to the film, the board's clearance was followed by a ruling of the Supreme Court, which said that the film cannot be banned in any state.

Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh governments' petitions that the film be banned citing law and order situation was struck down by the Supreme Court, following which the film has been released across the country on Thursday.
