    In its bravest move into the mobile phone market yet, software giant Microsoft is buying Nokia's phone business. It will also take over its services and licence its patents in a deal worth just under five and a half billion euros.

    It marks a return to the fold for former Microsoft director Stephen Elop, who left for Finland to run the ailing Nokia, which once dominated the global mobile phone market but has been all-but obliterated in America and Asia under the onslaught of Apple and Samsung.

    Nokia remains one of Europe's leading technology brands, and is still the world number two mobile phone maker, but it has missed out on the higher-margin smartphone sector, where it is not even in the top five. It will retain its networks, navigation, and patents portfolio business.

    Reiterating his earlier stand on the Kashmir issue, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said that India should give up on the pursuit of acquiring Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and merging it in its territory.

    "For how long will we keep shedding the blood of the innocent people and keep saying that it (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) is our part? It is not owned by them (India). Seventy years have passed. That is Pakistan, this is India. They (India) haven't been able to acquire it in 70 years. Automotive players are focused on leveraging edge computing to address these ever-evolving challenges.

    In traditional enterprise computing, data is produced at a user's computer. That data is moved across a WAN such as the internet, through the corporate LAN, where the data is stored and worked upon by an enterprise application. Results of that work are then conveyed back to the end-user. With regards to infrastructure of edge computing, it is a network of local micro datacenters for storage and processing purposes. At the same time, the central datacenter oversees the proceedings and gets valuable insights into the local data processing. However, we need to be mindful that edge computing is a kind of expansion of cloud computing architecture - an optimized solution for decentralized infrastructure. The fact is in a digital-first world, personalized content drives everything in the digital economy.
