Army pays floral tributes to 3 jawans martyred in avalanche
rmy today paid floral tributes to three jawans who were martyred when an avalanche struck their post in Machhil sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a solemn ceremony at Badamibagh Cantonment, Lt Gen A K Bhatt, Corps Commander, Chinar Corps and all ranks paid homage to them, an army spokesman said.
He said the three valiant soldiers braved all odds with exemplary commitment and dedication to duty and made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the motherland.
"Late Hav Kamlesh Singh, Nk Balveer and Sep Rajendra were part of a patrol party which was serving in the formidable heights along the Line of Control and got swept away during an avalanche.

JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Army today paid tributes to Sowar Vijay Kumar who was martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Army paid befitting tribute to late Sowar Vijay Kumar, who made the supreme sacrifice during a counter terrorist operation on August 3, 2018, in Sopore, wherein two terrorists were eliminated," a defence spokesman said.
Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen A K Bhatt and all ranks paid homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation, he said.
The spokesman said in a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined in to pay their last respects to the slain soldier.
Kumar had sustained a bullet injury during the fierce gun battle between militants and security forces in Dursoo village yesterday.
