TLC has made the decision to cancel the hit series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo after reports of Matriarch Mama June is allegedly dating Mark McDaniel, a convicted sex offender who was just released from prison. Even though the new season has already been filmed, the network will not be airing them. But despite the cancellation, TLC does care about the well being of the children and sources say they will be providing tutors and counselors for them. Mama June took to Facebook to talk about the cancellation and maintains she is not dating Mark McDaniel.

There is no stopping "Honey Boo Boo."
First, she conquered "Toddler and Tiaras," when she coined the phrase "Honey Boo Boo Child." Now, Alana Thompson and her family have conquered the Republican National Convention.
The ratings for TLC's increasingly popular show, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," skyrocketed Thursday night for the show's fourth episode, pulling in almost 3 million viewers in the 10 p.m. slot, according to Nielsen via the Hollywood Reporter.
This number was up 30 percent from last week's episode which boasted a hefty 2.3 million viewers, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Not too shabby for a self-proclaimed "redneck" family and their "Toddler and Tiaras" star daughter.
What makes the show so popular? Alana's mother, June Shannon, explained to Ryan Seacrest that she thinks viewers gravitate toward the show because her family is relatable.
"A lot of our fan base tell us that when they have a bad day they can be able to watch our show and be able to get a good laugh," she told Seacreast, according to E! News. "I actually laugh at the show too, because it is kind of funny, because we know that it was fun filming it. And it's just all about having fun and making memories. A lot of people say that they can relate to us."

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star "Mama" June says instant stardom is "surreal," but the family members are still just "regular everyday people." But ask Alana Thompson – the 7-year-old fun, feisty heart of the TLC hit – and she has a different answer.
"Are you famous?," June asks her squirming daughter during a PEOPLE interview.
"Yes," answers Alana as she fiddles with a crown.
"Why do you see yourself as being famous?" asks her mom.
"Uh, because I'm on TV all the time," she answers with a knowing grin.
Indeed, June says that whenever Alana hears her own voice playing on the TV when the family has the show on, she comes running from the other room to watch herself. But Alana still maintains her innocence and sense of silliness that viewers have come to love. During the interview she pushes her oversized crown down around her neck and sings a made-up song about "Honey Boo Boo Child."
And the family, so far, seems to be staying true to their country roots.

That vehicle showcases a group of stage parents who fight and claw their way to the top of child beauty pageants. “Honey Boo Boo”, whose real name is Alana Thompson, was one of those pageant kids. Her new show premiered to big ratings recently and her audience has grown to the point that Wednesday night it eclipsed coverage of the Republican National Convention, according to Neilson via The Hollywood Reporter yesterday.
“Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” debuted in early August to 2.2 million viewers. The show goes away from the child pageant scene to follow little Alana and her self-proclaimed redneck family. On the “Toddlers & Tiaras” show she was infamously fed “go go juice” by her mom before going onstage in pageants. It consisted of a mixture of Red Bull and Mountain Dew soda and gave her a definitive kick before performing.
In it’s fourth week airing, “Honey Boo Boo” garnered nearly 3 million viewers, that’s up 30 percent from last week’s ratings of 2.3 million. By demographic the show did even better. The 18-49 year-old demo is the advertisers’ sweet spot, and the reality show did better than all other cable shows in this segment, including the Republican National Convention coverage.

Fox News came close with a 1.2 rating, but on the networks, Honey Boo Boo beat out ABC and CBS' combined RNC ratings and slipped just ahead of NBC. Combine all the networks, of course, and the RNC easily took the ratings crown.
