E! host and personality Giuliana Rancic is currently battling breast cancer and after several lumpectomy surgeries failed to eradicate the cancer, she has announced that she will go with the more drastic option to have a double mastectomy.
Giuliana and her husband Bill appeared on NBC's Today show to announce that Giuliana has chosen the more dramatic option to ensure that the cancer is gone and according to her doctors, this surgery will give the cancer only a 1% chance to return.
"At the end, to be honest, all it came down to was just choosing to live, and not looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life," says Rancic.
Giuliana discovered she had breast cancer while undergoing routine IVF treatment and the couple's desire to have children weighed heavily on her decision to not get another lumpectomy which would mean years of medication that would put off getting pregnant for several more years.

With an efficacy of around 90 per cent positive results from an interim analysis of clinical trials of AZD1222 in the UK and Brazil the vaccine has proved to be highly effective in preventing COVID-19, said AstraZeneca on Monday.
One dosing regimen shows the vaccine efficacy of 90 per cent when AZD1222 was given as a half dose, followed by a full dose at least a month apart. Second dosing regimen shows 62 per cent efficacy when given two full doses at least a month apart. Combined analysis has an average efficacy of 70 per cent, AstraZeneca said in a statement.
Professor Andrew Pollard, Chief Investigator of the Oxford Vaccine Trial at Oxford, said: “These findings show that we have an effective vaccine that will save many lives. Excitingly, we have found that one of our dosing regimens may be around 90 per cent effective and if this dosing regime is used, more people could be vaccinated with planned vaccine supply. Today’s announcement is only possible thanks to the many volunteers in our trial, and the hard-working and talented team of researchers based around the world.”

In yet another appeal to the traders in the National Capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that the government is not planning on another corona lockdown. After meeting the representatives of the market associations, Kejriwal said that no shopkeeper in Delhi should be afraid of any new rule or rumours about lockdown. In a bid to allay the fear over the new regulation regarding the mask fine, Kejriwal said that shopkeepers should keep spare face covers to avoid the Rs 2,000 penalty. This is third such instance where the Delhi government has reached out to the community over lockdown rumours.
The market associations have assured the Delhi government that free masks will be provided to the traders. Shopkeepers are being encouraged to keep spare masks and hand sanitisers at their stores. Kejriwal once again said that he didn’t ‘wish to shut’ any market in the national capital. Since Diwali, there have been several reports that suggested that the Delhi government was planning to shut down markets due to sharp rise in the coronavirus cases. Several markets have been designated as new corona hotspots.
