Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Ram Kadam fell prey to fake news after he tweeted about actress Sonali Bendre being dead. The 42-year-old actress is currently undergoing treatment in New York.

The death hoax had been doing the rounds on social media for quite a while now but Kadam didn't bother to cross check if it was a rumour or not.

"Hindi and Marathi cinema actress Sonali Bendre, who once ruled millions of hearts with her scintillating performances, has passed away in the US. May her soul rest in peace," [loosely translated from Marathi] Ram Kadam shared this message on Twitter.
However, Twitter users were not ready to spare him so easily. They started lashing out at Kadam saying that he had committed a crime by spreading such fake news about a living person.

It was just yesterday when Sonali Bendre uploaded a photo of herself holding a book in her hand sporting a bald look. A couple of days ago, she thanked Priyanka Chopra for introducing her to people who got her a wig to wear.
