    રાજકોટ શહેરને પાણી પૂરું પાડતા આજી ડેમની મુખ્ય લાઈનમાં ભંગાણ થયું હતું. આજી ડેમ ચોકડી નજીક અમદાવાદ બાયપાસ રોડ પર આવેલા પુલની નીચે આજી ડેમથી રાજકોટ શહેર તરફ આવતી મુખ્ય પાણીની લાઈનમાં ભંગાણ થયું હતું. મોડી રાત્રે પાણીની પાઈપ લાઈનમાં ભંગાણ થતા 20 ફૂટ ઉંચા ફુવારા જોવા મળ્યા હતા, જેને કારણે હજારો લીટર પાણીનો વેડફાટ થયો હતો.

    એક તરફ ચોમાસુ મોડું હોવાને કારણે લોકોને પીવાના પાણી માટે વલખા મારવા પડે છે, ત્યાં બીજી બાજુ લીકેજ લાઈન રિપેરિંગના નામે રાજકોટ મહાનગર પાલિકાએ રાજકોટ વાસીઓ પર એક દિવસનો પાણીનો કાપ મૂકી દીધો છે. પરંતુ રાજકોટ મહાનગર પાલિકાનું તંત્ર ગાઢ નિંદ્રામાં સૂતું હોઈ તેમ કલાકો સુધી આ પાણીની લીકેજ લાઇનનું રિપેરિંગ કરવામાં આવ્યું નહીં અને તેના કારણે હજારો લીટર પાણી વેડફાઈ ગયું.
