અમરેલી જિલ્લાના ખાંભા તાલુકાના છેવાડે આવેલ ગીદરડી ગામે એક અતિ ગરીબ મજૂર પરિવારના ત્રણ બાળકોને નાનપણથી જ ગળાના ભાગે ગંભીર બીમારી લાગુ પડી છે. જેનો આજ સુધી કોઈ જ ઉપચાર થયો નથી. ત્યારે આ પરિવારમાં કમાનાર માત્ર એક જ વ્યક્તિ છે જેને લઈને પરિવાર પણ લાચાર છે. ખાંભા તાલુકાના છેવાડે આવેલ ગીદરડી ગામ. આ ગામે એક અતિ ગરીબ પરિવાર રહે છે. જેનું નામ છે મનસુખભાઈ દેગામા. આ અતિ જર્જરીત મકાનમાં આ પરિવારના દસ સભ્યો રહે છે. મનસુખભાઈને પાંચ બાળકો છે, જેમાં આ ત્રણ બાળકોને ગળાના ભાગે થયેલી રસોળી જેવી ગાંઠો તેની કુમળીવયને કચડી રહી છે.

ત્રણેય બાળકો મજબૂર છે પોતાની આ ગંભીર બીમારીને સહન કરવા. ત્યારે આ દારુણ ગરીબીમાં પરિવારનું જીવતર પૂરું કરવા માત્ર એક જ મનસુખભાઈ ખેત મજૂરી કરી ગુજરાન ચલાવે છે. મનસુખભાઈના માતપિતા વયોવૃદ્ધ છે. આ બાળકોના માતા પિતા મજૂરીએ જતા હોઈ તેમની વયોવૃદ્ધ મા આ ત્રણેય બાળકોનું લાલન પાલન કરે છે. તેમને શાળાએ જવા તૈયાર કરવાથી માંડી બધી જ જવાબદારી નિભાવે છે.

ગીદરડીના આ દેગામા પરિવારના બાળકોને જ્યારથી આ બીમારી લાગુ પડી ત્યારથી આ ગરીબ પરિવારને પડ્યા માથે પાટા સમાન બની રહી છે. ત્યારે આ પરિવાર લોકો પાસે મદદ માંગી રહ્યો છે. ગંભીર અને અસાધ્ય બીમારીનો ભોગ બનેલા આ બાળકો સામાન્ય બાળકોની જેમ કામ કરી શકતા નથી. આ બાળકોના જીવનમાંથી જીવતરનો આનંદ ઉડી ગયો છે. તેમને ભણવાની ખુબ જ તમન્ના છે, પરંતુ ગળાની બીમારીના કારણે તેઓ ભણી શકતા નથી. ગીદરડીના આ દેગામા પરિવારે બાળકોની બીમારીનો ઈલાજ કરાવવા અનેક પ્રયત્નો કર્યા, પરંતુ તેમાં કોઈ જ સફળતા મળી નથી અને આ બીમારી કયા પ્રકારની છે એ પણ જાણી શકાયું નથી. ત્યારે આ ગામના યુવાનો પણ આ પરિવારની વ્હારે આવ્યા છે.
