    BSE benchmark Sensex has dropped by 201 points in late morning deals. The 30-share index resumed higher at 28,133.36 and later moved in a range of 28,143.28 and 27,846.57. Major losers were, Lupin , ICICI Bank, Reliance , Tata Motors, Dr Reddy , Maruti , Gail , Larsen and Cipla. The NSE 50-share Nifty also quoted lower by 72.70 points or 0.84 per cent at 8,605.55. The rupee has appreciated by 17 paise to 66.67 against the dollar today on sustained selling of the US currency by exporters and banks, with a higher opening in the equity market backing it up. Forex dealers have said the weakness in the dollar against some other currencies overseas and continued inflows by foreign funds too supported the rupee.
