    રાજ્યમાં ચાલુ વર્ષે થયેલા અપૂરતા વરસાદના કારણે રાજ્યના સૌરાષ્ટ્ર અને ઉત્તર ગુજરાતના અનેક જિલ્લાઓમાં પાણીની અછત સર્જાઈ છે. હજુ તો શિયાળાની શરૂઆત થતાં જ પાણીની તંગી ઊભી થતાં ખેડૂતો સહિત સ્થાનિક લોકોને પણ મુશ્કેલીઓ પડી રહી છે. ત્યારે એકબાજુ પાણીની અછત છે તો બીજી બાજુ નર્મદાની બનાવાયેલી કેનાલોમાં ગાબડાં પડવાનો સિલસિલો યથાવત રહ્યો છે.

    ગુજરાતમાં એકબાજુ પાણીની તંગી ઊભી થઈ રહી છે તો બીજી બાજુ બનાસકાંઠા જિલ્લાના ડીસામાં કેનાલોમાં ગાબડા પડવાનો સિલસિલો યથાવત રહ્યો છે. વાવના ચારડા ડિસ્ટ્રીબ્યૂટર કેનાલમાં 10 ફૂટનું ગાબડું પડતાં પાણીનો બગાડ શરૂ થયો છે અને તેના કારણે આસપાસના ખેતરોમાં જ્યાં દિવેલાનો ઊભા પાક પર પાણી ફરી વળતાં ખેડૂતોને ભારે નુકસાન સહન કરવાનો વારો આવ્યો છે. ખેડૂતોનો અને સ્થાનિક લોકોનો આક્ષેપ છે કે, રાજ્ય સરકાર દ્વારા જે કેનાલો બનાવવામાં આવી છે તેમાં કોન્ટ્રાક્ટર દ્વારા હલકી ગુણવત્તાની કામગીરીને લીધે ગાબડાં પડ્યાં છે અને રાજ્ય સરકાર કે સંબંધિત વિભાગો દ્વારા આ મામલે કોઈ કાર્યવાહી હાથ ધરવામાં નથી આવી રહી.

    આવો જ એક બનાવ ભાવનગર જિલ્લામાં પણ બન્યો છે. જેમાં શેત્રુંજી ડેમમાંથી છોડવામાં આવેલું પાણીનો વ્યય થતો હોવાનું બહાર આવ્યું છે. આ પાણીના બગાડ માટે ડાબા અને જમણાં કાંઠાની કેનાલમાં જે પાણી છોડવામાં આવ્યું છે તેમાં યોગ્ય રીતે કામગીરી ન થઈ હોવાના કારણે નદી નાળામાં પાણી બિનજરૂરી રીતે વ્યય થઈ રહ્યો હોવાનો આરોપ સ્થાનિક ખેડૂતો દ્વારા લગાવવામાં આવી રહ્યો છે. ખેડૂતોએ માગણી કરી છે કે, હાલમાં જે રીતે પાણીનો વ્યય થઈ રહ્યો છે ત્યારે વહિવટી તંત્રએ પાણી બંધ કરી દેવું જોઈએ અને જે સમસ્યા છે તેનો ઉકેલ લાવીને 20 દિવસ બાદ ફરી પાણી ચાલુ કરવું જોઈએ. અત્રે આપને જણાવી દઈએ કે, શેત્રુંજી ડેમમાં છોડવામાં આવેલું પાણી તળાજાના કામરોલ અને સાંગણામાં ખોટી રીતે પાણીનો બગાડ થઈ રહ્યો છે અને નદીના પૂલ પરથી ચોમાસાની માફક પાણી વહી રહ્યું હોવાનું પણ જોવા મળી રહ્યું છે.

    આવો જ એક બનાવ ભાવનગર જિલ્લામાં પણ બન્યો છે. જેમાં શેત્રુંજી ડેમમાંથી છોડવામાં આવેલું પાણીનો વ્યય થતો હોવાનું બહાર આવ્યું છે. આ પાણીના બગાડ માટે ડાબા અને જમણાં કાંઠાની કેનાલમાં જે પાણી છોડવામાં આવ્યું છે તેમાં યોગ્ય રીતે કામગીરી ન થઈ હોવાના કારણે નદી નાળામાં પાણી બિનજરૂરી રીતે વ્યય થઈ રહ્યો હોવાનો આરોપ સ્થાનિક ખેડૂતો દ્વારા લગાવવામાં આવી રહ્યો છે. ખેડૂતોએ માગણી કરી છે કે, હાલમાં જે રીતે પાણીનો વ્યય થઈ રહ્યો છે ત્યારે વહિવટી તંત્રએ પાણી બંધ કરી દેવું જોઈએ અને જે સમસ્યા છે તેનો ઉકેલ લાવીને 20 દિવસ બાદ ફરી પાણી ચાલુ કરવું જોઈએ. અત્રે આપને જણાવી દઈએ કે, શેત્રુંજી ડેમમાં છોડવામાં આવેલું પાણી તળાજાના કામરોલ અને સાંગણામાં ખોટી રીતે પાણીનો બગાડ થઈ રહ્યો છે અને નદીના પૂલ પરથી ચોમાસાની માફક પાણી વહી રહ્યું હોવાનું પણ જોવા મળી રહ્યું છે.
