    India's trade deficit narrows to $10.86 billion in September

    India's exports contracted by 6.57 per cent to USD 26 billion in September mainly due to significant dip in shipments from key sectors such as petroleum, engineering, leather, chemicals, and gems & jewellery. Imports too declined by 13.85 per cent to USD 36.89 billion, narrowing trade deficit to USD 10.86 billion in September, according to official data released on Tuesday. Trade deficit in September last year stood at USD 14.95 billion.

    Trade deficit narrows to $11 billion in October; Exports dip 1.11%, import contracts 16.31%

    India's exports contracted for the third month in a row in October by 1.11 per cent to USD 26.38 billion mainly on account of a significant dip in shipments of petroleum, carpet, leather products, rice and tea. Imports too declined by 16.31 per cent to USD 37.39 billion in October, narrowing the trade deficit to USD 11 billion, according to the government data released on Friday. The trade deficit stood at USD 18 billion in October 2018.

    जहां एक तरफ देश में चीनी उत्पादों को न खरीदने की मुहिम चल रही है वहीं चीन ने अपना पाकिस्तान प्रेम दिखाते हुए भारत पर आरोप लगाए हैं। चीन की सरकारी मीडिया ने आज कहा है कि भारत ने गोवा ब्रिक्स सम्मेलन का इस्तेमाल पाकिस्तान की छवि अलग-थलग कर उसे हाशिए पर डालने के लिए किया है। इस सम्मेलन में भारत ने खुद को एक पाक साफ देश के तौर पर पेश करते हुए एनएसजी की सदस्यता और संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद में स्थाई सीट के लिए अपनी दावेदारी मजबूत की है। सरकारी अखबार ग्लोबल टाइम्स में छपे एक लेख में कहा गया, भारत-पाक तनाव की असहज पृष्ठभूमि को देखते हुए भारत द्वारा बिम्सटेक का समावेश अपने आप में कहीं अधिक भू-रणनीतिक निहितार्थ लिए हुए हैं। अखबार ने कहा, भारत ने पाकिस्तान के अलावा सभी देशों को आमंत्रित करके दरअसल पाकिस्तान को क्षेत्र में अलग थलग बना दिया। वहीं दूसरे तरफ भारत में चीनी उत्पादों के बहिष्कार पर अखबार ने लिखा कि भारतीय सोशल मीडिया पर चीन में बने सामान के बहिष्कार के लिए किया गया आह्वान भड़काऊ है क्योंकि भारतीय उत्पाद चीन के उत्पादों के मुकाबले में टिक नहीं सकते। अखबार ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की मनपसंद परियोजना 'मेक इन इंडिया' को 'अव्यावहारिक' करार देते हुए चीन की कंपनियों को भारत में निवेश नहीं करने को कहा है। उसने चेताया है कि उस देश में निवेश 'आत्मघाती होगा' जहां भ्रष्टाचार अधिक है और काम करने वाले मेहनती नहीं हैं।

India's exports dropped by 6.05 per cent to USD 26.13 billion in August compared to the year-ago month, official data released on Friday showed.Imports too declined by 13.45 per cent to USD 39.58 billion, narrowing trade deficit to USD 13.45 billion in August.
The deficit was USD 17.92 billion in August last year.
