    भारत और पाकिस्ताजन के रिश्तों में गहराते तनाव का असर उस समय साफ नजर आया जब सार्क सम्मेलन में गृह मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह और पाकिस्तातन के समकक्ष निसार अली खान ने बमुश्किल एक-दूसरे से हाथ मिलाया। सार्क सम्मेलन को संबोधित करते हुए राजनाथ सिंह ने पाकिस्तान को खरी-खरी सुनाते हुए कहा कि, न केवल आतंकियों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई होनी चाहिए बल्कि उन संस्थाओं, व्यक्तियों और राष्ट्रों के खिलाफ भी कड़ी कार्रवाई होनी चाहिए जो आतंकवाद का समर्थन करते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि अच्छा या बुरा आतंकवाद कुछ नहीं होता है। आतंकवाद सिर्फ आतंकवाद होता है। पाकिस्तान पर निशाना साधते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि आतंकियों का गुणगान शहीदों की तरह नहीं होना चाहिए। इसके साथ ही राजनाथ ने अफगानिस्तान और बांग्लादेश में भी आतंकी हमलों का भी जिक्र किया। अफगानिस्तान के विदेश मंत्री सलाहुद्दीन रब्बानी ने भी आतंकवाद के मुद्दे पर पाक को घेरा। हालांकि इससे पहले पाक प्रधानमंत्री नवाज शरीफ ने आतंकवाद के खिलाफ लड़ाई में अपनी प्रतिबद्धता जताई, लेकिन कश्मीर का नारा बुलंद करने वाले अपने बयान पर खामोश रहे। बहरहाल राजनाथ सिंह के भाषण को कवर करने के लिए किसी भी मीडिया हाउस को अनुमति नहीं दी गई थी। वहीं दूसरी ओर सम्मेलन को दौरान कार्यक्रम के बाहर आतंकी संगठन हिजबुल मुजाहिदीन के सरगना सैयद सलाउद्दीन की अगुवाई में लोगों ने राजनाथ के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन किया।
