Braid chopping incidents still rising in Punjab
The braid-chop hysteria continued in various parts of Punjab, with ten more women on Wednesday making claims of their hair being chopped off in mysterious circumstances.
Five such cases were reported from Tarn Taran, four from Moga and one from Patiala.
In Tarn Taran, all the five women claimed that they found their hair chopped off after they saw cats in their premises.
Swarn Kaur (55) of Nanaksar locality in Tarn Tarn city, said, “When I was lying on my bed on Tuesday night, I saw two white cats wandering in my house. Suddenly, one of them turned black. When I touched my head, my braid was chopped off.”
Kirna, 35, a resident of ward number 19 of Tarn Taran, claimed that she was sleeping in the courtyard of their house on Wednesday morning. “At around 6am, I heard a cat’s meow and found that my braid was chopped off.”
Rajbir Kaur, 26, of Mohalla Tank Kushatri in Tarn Taran, said, “I was sitting in the courtyard of my house. I saw a cat and suddenly noticed that my chopped braid was lying in my lap.”
Tarn Taran city Police said, “We have not received any complaint in this regard. If anyone complains, action will be taken immediately.”
Meanwhile, the youth of different localities in Tarn Taran have decided to stand guard at night to prevent any mischievous elements entering their respective areas.

So I'm going to show you how to do a fishtail French braid. Instead of a standard French braid, which normally starts near the hairline, we're going to start the fishtail french braid a little further back. We'll start by taking a small section right here in the back, and splitting it into two large sections. We're going to take a small piece from the outside and cross it over the center. Then take another small piece from the other side and crossing it towards the center, creating an X in the middle.
Now we'll take a small piece from the outside and start picking up hair and adding it to those pieces, crossing it over the center. Pick up a small piece from the outside and a larger piece and crossing it over the center. We're going to continue to take hair in a circular section, adding it to the braid. You always want to make sure that you have an X here in the center, otherwise we lose the whole style.
