સુરત મહાનગર પાલિકા દ્વારા રસ્તાનું રિ-કાર્પેટિંગ ડામર દ્વારા કરવામાં આવે છે પરંતુ આ ડામર દ્વારા રસ્તો રિ-કાર્પેટિંગ કરવાની કોસ્ટમાં વધુ થાય છે. તેથી સુરતની સર SNS ગાંધી કૉલેજના પ્રોફેસર તનુજ પરમારે બનાવ્યું રસ્તા રિ-કાર્પેટિંગ કરવા માટેનું બૉન્ડ. જેથી રસ્તાનું રિ-કાર્પેટિંગ કરવાની પ્રકિયા સસ્તી અને ઝડપી બને. આ બૉન્ડ બનાવવા માટે 3 વર્ષ જેટલો સમય લાગ્યો હતો અને તે 3 વર્ષની રિસર્ચ બાદ બૉન્ડ બનાવવામાં સફળતા મળી હતી. આ બૉન્ડની વાત કરવામાં આવે તો બૉન્ડ કોલ્ડ મિક્સ ટેક્નોલૉજીથી બનાવામાં આવ્યું છે. આ બૉન્ડને ઉપયોગ કરવાની રીત પણ સહેલી છે. મહાનગર પાલિકાના કર્મચારી હોય કે શહેરના કોઈ પણ માણસ હોય, આ બૉન્ડ દ્વારા રસ્તા પરના ખાડાઓ ભરી શકે છે. રેતી કપચીમાં જરૂરી માત્રામાં બૉન્ડને મિક્સ કરીને ખાડામાં નાંખીને તેના પર કોઈ વજનદાર વસ્તુથી બરાબર પ્રેસર આપી ખાડો ભરી શકાય છે. આ બૉન્ડ બનાવવાની લાગત 2 થી 3 રૂપિયા પ્રતિ કિલો પડે છે. બૉન્ડ બનાવ્યા બાદ પ્રોફેસર અને તેમના 4 સ્ટુડન્ટો સાથે મળીને સુરત મહાનગર પાલિકાનું કામ કરી રહ્યા છે. હાલ અત્યાર સુધીમાં 20 થી 22 જેટલા ખાડાઓ ભર્યા છે અને આ રિ-કાર્પેટિંગ થયેલા રસ્તા પરથી હજારો વાહન પસાર થાય છે. સર SNS ગાંધી કૉલેજના પ્રોફેસર તનુજ પરમારના આ સફળ પ્રયોગથી મહાનગર પાલિકા આ બૉન્ડથી રસ્તાનું રિ-કાર્પેટિંગ કરશે તો રસ્તો રિ-કાર્પેટિંગ કરવાની લાગતમાં પણ મોટો ફાયદો થઈ શકે એમ છે.
