The "Octomom's" difficult April ended on Monday with her filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in federal court, according to E! Online. But according to TMZ, she is trying to turn her financial ship around — by signing a deal to star in a movie for a porn company.
According to court documents, Nadya Suleman says she has less than $50,000 in assets and owes between $500,000 and $1 million to creditors including Amir Haddadin, the owner of her home; Orkin Pest Control; Kaiser Permanete; Verizon Wireless; Sylvan Learning Center; and others.
Earlier this year, Suleman — who has 14 children, including octuplets born in 2009 — revealed that she was accepting $2,000 per month in food stamps from the state of California.
Suleman's van was vandalized and she received a death threat during an incident at her California home on April 7. Last week, she was the subject of a child services investigation after her former hairdresser went public with photos that reportedly depicted her home as being filthy. Police subsequently determined that there was nothing unusual going on at the home and that Suleman's kids were safe.

Nadya Suleman, known to most as Octomom after giving birth to octuplets, has $1 million in debts (and $50,000 in assets) and has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection.
"I have had to make some very difficult decisions this year and filing Chapter 7 was one of them," she tells E! News. "But I have to do what is best for my children (there are 14 of them), and I need a fresh start."
Listed among those she owes are the California DMV, a Christian school, every utility you can think of, DirecTV and a gym, which she owes $500.
Among those difficult decisions she has made would be undressing for a spread in U.K.'s Closer magazine for somewhere between $8,000 and $10,000.
"I have to do what I have to do to take care of my family," she told Anderson Cooper.
That apparently includes a deal with an adult entertainment company to shoot a video this summer, which a source told TMZ.com is for "a lot more than the $10,000 she made for posing topless."

Nadya Suleman has found a new house to live in with her 14 children.
The 'Octomom' paid eight months of rent in advance for her new home along with a giant deposit - money which came from a solo masturbation video she recorded, reports TMZ.
The five-bedroom home is located in Palmdale, California and features three bathrooms, a three-car garage and a 14,000 square-foot back yard - all for $2,150 (£1,335) a month.
Suleman previously had trouble securing a home for her family.
Back in August, she was rejected by homeowners because of the media attention she would bring to the neighbourhood.

Octomom Nadya Suleman is a sick woman according to former nanny Gina Bryson. A restraining order was served to Bryson on Friday because of her purported harassment of Suleman's oldest son.
According to a report from RadarOnline, the nanny is accused of having an obsession with Suleman's fourteen children and of harassing the oldest one, Eli, with text messages and phone calls.
"Nadya is a sick woman that has her definitions confused as she has claimed that I was obsessed with her children; the correct verbiage is love, I do love them and will continue to try to protect them against their mother's neglect, abuse and OBSESSION to use them to make a profit from," Gina said in her interview with RadarOnline. "I was surprised it wasn't reported on Friday morning. I guess they waited for today since social media traffic is higher. I am also shocked that the people that filed for Eli are willing to blatantly lie to court officers as there is ZERO proof that I have ever harassed any of Nadya's children."
Suleman's children are presently in the care of friends and nannies while she undergoes a month-long stint in rehab for her Xanax addiction. Gina Bryson says reports Suleman fired her last summer are false as well. She was one of many volunteers who helped care for the fourteen children and she never received a cent for her efforts.
