वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण की उपस्थिति में 20 सितंबर 2019 को गोवा में जीएसटी परिषद की 37 वीं बैठक हुई। मिलने के बाद, FM ने वस्तुओं की संख्या में कटौती और कुछ वस्तुओं पर दर में वृद्धि की घोषणा की। वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने कहा कि सभी जीएसटी दरें 1 अक्टूबर, 2019 से प्रभावी होंगी। जीएसटी परिषद ने कैफीनयुक्त पेय पर दरों को 18% से बढ़ाकर 28% करने और अतिरिक्त 12% मुआवजा उपकर के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दी।
