Lil Wayne was hospitalized Tuesday after suffering a seizure, TMZ reports. The rap star, 30, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles late Tuesday night by his bodyguards after a single seizure and released early Wednesday morning, according to thewebsite report.
"I'm fine. Thank u," Lil Wayne tweeted at 11:23 a.m. PT Wednesday.
His publicists did not return requests for details or confirmation of the TMZ story.
Wayne, who recently revealed that he has epilepsy, spent almost a week at Cedars-Sinai in March after suffering several seizures.
"I'm an epileptic, so I'm prone to seizures," he told L.A. radio station Power 106 afterward. "I've had a bunch of seizures. Y'all just never hear about it. This time it got real bad because I got three of 'em in a row, and on the third one, my heart rate went down to, like, 30%. Basically, I could have died soon. That's why it was so serious. TMZ first reported that Wayne was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after experiencing a single seizure. He was treated and released early Wednesday morning.
"I'm fine. Thank u," Wayne tweeted to his 11,000-plus followers on Wednesday. A rep for the rapper did not immediately return The Hollywood Reporter's request for comment.
The 30-year-old was reported to be near death in March after suffering a series of severe seizures, spending six days in the intensive care unit at Cedars. Wayne has since explained that he is epileptic and has been suffering from seizures since he was a child.
"The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself. That’s just typical me, though," he told radio's Power 108.
Wayne is scheduled to hit the road July 9 for a slew of tour dates, with his America's Most Wanted tour wrapping Sept. 1 in Irvine.
