Mary Jane Watson Booted From 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'

There are some surprising new developments coming from the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and we've got all of the details. Ok, we recently gave you the update that Sony had secured two new release dates in 2016 and 2018 for two additional Amazing Spider-Man movies. And to make that even better we got word that Andrew Garfield has said yes to be onboard for both of these two new movies, which is a big 5 year commitment! Way to stick it out for the fans, Andrew!! But today, we are also learning something that is really throwing us for a loop. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that we will NOT be seeing Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man Two! Yes, you heard me correctly. Apparently, Mary Jane's story line is going to now be saved for the third installment of the franchise, which is due out June 10, 2016. What does Shailene Woodley think about this sudden change? She said quote "Of course I'm bummed. But I am a firm believer in everything happening for a specific reason...Based on the proposed plot, I completely understand the need for holding off on introducing [Mary Jane] until the next film." Now, I know this could come as a big bummer to some of you, HOWEVER, let me remind you that we weren't really expecting a huge role for Mary Jane in this sequel to begin with. Director, Marc Webb initially said that she would only have a brief appearance, so perhaps this delay will mean that we will see more screen time for Mary
