In a bid to support revival of sectors hit most by the COVID-19 pandemic, RBI on Friday decided to open a separate liquidity window of Rs 15,000 crore for certain contact-intensive sectors like hotels and restaurants, tourism and aviation ancillary services. RBI also announced that the NACH system will be available on all days, including Sundays and bank holidays, effective from August 1, 2021. This means that come August 1, your salary credit into your bank account, auto-debits related to mutual fund SIPs, home/car/personal loans EMI payments, bill payments etc. will take place even on bank holidays.
