वैज्ञानिकों ने आशंका जताई है कि आज से अरबों साल बाद सूरज का खात्मा हमारी धरती को सौरमंडल की सबसे खराब जगह में बदल देगा। इस दौरान सूरज का आकार इतना बढ़ जाएगा कि वह बुध, शुक्र और हमारी पृथ्वी तक को अपने अंदर समेट लेगा। वैज्ञानिकों का मानना है कि सूरज की वर्तमान उम्र 4.6 अरब साल हो गई है...जो इसके अनुमानित 10 अरब साल के जीवनकाल का लगभग आधा है।
