Sport is a major element bonding our Indian society together. Even globally, sport is one of those few activities that unites people regardless of their social, political, religious or cultural background. Such inclusivity is even more important in uniquely diversified countries like India.
The current state of affair requires every one of us to do our part, and this applies to the industries as well, including FICCI as a core representative body. At this point in time, we have very well understood the far-reaching consequences of the coronavirus crisis around the globe, which has affected the sports community as well including all our Tokyo bound athletes, significantly.
We firmly believe that the families of our athletes are an essential & integral part of Indian sports fraternity since family is the basic element of any athlete’s successful professional life or sports path. They dedicated their lives to support our athletes as a child, motivated them during difficult times, and instilled the necessary qualities to perform and bring laurels to our country. Undoubtedly, family members comprise a major contributing factor in each of ours Tokyo bound athlete’s life.
We are all aware that extraordinary circumstances call for extraordinary measures. Thus, demonstrating unity & inspiration, FICCI along with some its eminent member organizations has decided to support and safeguard the health of our athletes and their families, who have supported India’s dream for medals at Tokyo relentlessly under these unprecedented & testing times.
As immediate measures, we are extending support to all our Tokyo bound athletes and their immediate families by initiating a Pan-India free of cost vaccination drive for them. Provide each family with an annual virtual health plan. The immediate family members of the athletes can avail free virtual consultations with top doctors within their cities for a year.
