Jogindernagar (Himachal Pradesh) : BJP MP from Mandi parliamentary seat Ram Swaroop Sharma will be cremated at 11 am in Machhayal. Earlier, his body has been kept in his native village Jalpahed for the last darshan. A large number of people are reaching to pay tribute to him. This morning, his body was brought in an ambulance from Delhi to Jogindernagar. Sharma is suspected to have died by suicide in Delhi on Wednesday. He was 62 year old. Sharma was allegedly suffering from severe depression and was under treatment for the last six months. He was alone at his flat in Delhi as his wife was on the Char Dham pilgrimage. Sharma's personal security officer was in Mandi. Ram Swaroop Sharma is said to have hung himself from a ceiling fan. Born in 1958 in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district, Sharma was first elected to Lok Sabha in 2014. He was again reelected from Mandi in the 2019 elections. He also served on the Parliamentary standing committee on External Affairs. Ram Swaroop Sharma is survived by his wife and three sons.
