The first number plate came into existence on 14 August 1893 after passing the Paris Police Ordinance. But even before that, after the order of King Louis 16, the number plate was installed on the royal coach. In 1783, France started the tradition of putting number plates on coaches. After France, Germany adopted the number plate in 1896....
