Sonia Gandhi at Congress' Chintan Shivir expresses her concern over unemployment

Congress President Sonia Gandhi while speaking at the Congress' chintan shivir at Jaipur said, "We see various protest movements across the country relating to lands, water and livelihood problems and gender issues and our party must proactively take up these concerns". Around one crore youth seek productive jobs year after year. No other country faces such a challenge. Mahatma Gandhi NREGA has demonstrated its efficiency to tackle this issue in the rural areas, but we need more such efforts to provide employments in the semi-urban and urban areas. It is the lack of employment, among other reasons, that causes frustration among the youth and also cause for crime and violence to certain extent".
