    जिल्ह्यातील ज्येष्ठ शिक्षक नेते व सेवानिवृत्त प्राचार्य मोहनराव मरकड तथा एम एस मरकड सर यांचे आज सकाळी वृद्धापकाळाने दुःखद निधन झाले. त्यांचे वय 83वर्ष होते अंबिका महिला बँकेच्या संस्थापक संचालिका प्रा पुष्‍पा मरकड यांचे पती होत. महाराष्ट्र साहित्य परिषदेचे शाखा कार्याध्यक्ष व ज्येष्ठ पत्रकार किशोर मरकड व सामजिक कार्यकर्ते नितीन मरकड यांचे ते वडील आहेत. प्राचार्य एम एस मरकड सर जिल्ह्यातील ज्येष्ठ शिक्षक नेते होते तसेच अहमदनगर जिल्हा मराठा विद्या प्रसारक संस्थेचे ते जनरल बॉडी सदस्य होते. अहमदनगर जिल्हा माध्यमिक शिक्षक सोसायटीचे ते पंधरा वर्षे संचालक ,सहा वर्ष अध्यक्ष, तीन वर्ष चेअरमन पद त्यांनी भूषवले होते. तसेच माध्यमिक शिक्षक सोसायटीतील सहकार सेवा मंडळाचे त्यांनी अनेक वर्षे नेतृत्व केले होते.

    Hundreds feared dead in 7.8 Iran earthquake, also felt in New Delhi, Gulf States

    Hundreds of people are feared dead after a powerful quake has shaken Iran near the border with Pakistan. The tremors were felt all across the region. It comes just a week after another large tremor hit the country.
    Iran's Press TV reports that at least 40 people have been confirmed dead due to the quake.

    The epicenter is located some 90km southeast of the city of Khash, according to the US Geological survey. The quake struck deep underground, more than 15km from the surface.

    The Iranian Seismological Center (IRSC) gives the magnitude of the quake at 7.5 on the Richter scale.

    Iranian emergency services have deployed rescue helicopters and ground teams to the affected area. Communications there have been lost, as state TV channel reports.
    Khash is a populous city, which had over 56,000 residents as of 2006. The city is capital of Khash County in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province, one of Iran's poorest and scarcely populated areas.

    People reported feeling a slight tremor in Afghanistan's Kandahar and Pakistan’s Karachi, both cities located hundreds of kilometers from the epicenter.

    “Felt my laptop and table shake noticeably. There was no window rattling, but the shaking motion was visibly strong,” one witness in Karachi said.

    In the Indian capital the quake caused tall buildings to shake, prompting some people to rush to the streets, according to Reuters.

जेल मुख्यालय के संज्ञान में आया है कि जेल अधिकारी एवं कर्मचारी सामान्य मैनुअल घड़ी की जगह स्मार्ट वाच और स्मार्ट बैंड का इस्तेमाल कर रहे है। ये डिवाइस मोबाइल से जुड़ने के बाद उसकी तरह काम करने लगते है। इसलिए इनका मोबाइल की तरह इस्तेमाल किए जाने की संभावना रहती है।
कारागार मुख्यालय ने प्रदेश की समस्त जेलों में स्मार्ट वाच और स्मार्ट बैंड के इस्तेमाल पर पूरी तरह से प्रतिबंध लगा दिया है। मोबाइल की तरह इनका इस्तेमाल होने की आशंका के मद्देनजर यह कदम उठाया गया है। डीजी जेल आनंद कुमार ने शुक्रवार को इसका आदेश जारी कर दिया।

दरअसल, जेल मुख्यालय के संज्ञान में आया है कि जेल अधिकारी एवं कर्मचारी सामान्य मैनुअल घड़ी की जगह स्मार्ट वाच और स्मार्ट बैंड का इस्तेमाल कर रहे है। ये डिवाइस मोबाइल से जुड़ने के बाद उसकी तरह काम करने लगते है। इसलिए इनका मोबाइल की तरह इस्तेमाल किए जाने की संभावना रहती है। इसी वजह से ऐसे डिवाइस को जेल के भीतर ले जाने और इस्तेमाल करने पर प्रतिबंध लगाया गया है। डीजी जेल ने समस्त डीआईजी कारागार को आदेश का सख्ती से अनुपालन कराने को कहा है।
