Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani’s mother, Rekha, left for her heavenly abode on Saturday (April 7). The last rites were performed at Banganga, Nepean Sea Road, in Mumbai at 1 pm the following day. The cause of her death was not known immediately. “With grief and sadness, this is to inform you that Rekha Advani (m/o Monisha, Nikkhil and Kunal) passed away suddenly on Saturday evening,” read a statement from the family. Karan Johar, Abhishek Bachchan paid their last respects to Rekha at her funeral. Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar, actors Manoj Bajpayee and Diana Penty were also seen in attendance.
