Minor girl dies in Golaghat after train hits a passenger vehicle
The 12067 UP Janasatabdi train struck a Tata Magic passenger car bearing registration number AS 05 C 7850 in Khokonguri at Tengani under Dhansiri Subdivision, on Friday evening, killing a minor girl of eight years old, Railway police said.
According to the report, the vehicle was traveling over the tracks where no railway crossing was available while the train approached in Tangani area.

Half naked body of a minor recovered in Biswanath, Rape suspected
In a shocking incident, a half naked body of a minor was recovered under mysterious conditions near Kalapani Bridge at Amratarigaon of Mijikar in Biswanath District.
The identity of the deceased girl has not been ascertained yet, said the police officials.
Local people in the area claimed it to be a case of rape and the body was sent for post mortem by Biswanath police.

Minor Girl Gang Raped in Diphu, Three held
In a major breakthrough, Karbi Anglong police arrested three culprits in connection to an alleged rape incident in Diphu that took place on last Tuesday evening.
The three culprits were identified as Tenison Ingti, Chesong Ingti, Birsing Bey.
All the accused were reported absconding from day of the incident and were caught from Dimapur, Nagal and Manja area.

Chandrayaan 2 Mission : Meet Nidhi Sharma (Scientist at ISRO) from Tinsukia
Meet Nidhi Sharma (Scientist at ISRO), the daughter in law of Deepak Deb and Sikha Deb from Tinsukia. She was one of the top ranking scientist and was working on Chandrayaan 2 mission.
Speaking to media, Deepak Deb informed that she never disclosed about her profession or anything about the ISRO in detailed earlier.
Interestingly, Deepak and his family came to know about her position when ISRO lost contact with Chandrayaan-2 lander 2.1 kms above lunar surface on last Saturday.
Soon after the incident, Nidhi Sharma contacted her in-laws in Tinsukia and briefed about the entire matter, informed the father in law Deepak Deb.

Hojai Police apprehended a suspected cadre of ULFA-I from Lumding Railway Station on Wednesday evening. The apprehended cadre was identified as Manabjyoti Kalita son of Dhiren Kalita of Kaki Rampur. Police also seized one ULFA-I flag which was hoisted at Kaki Kanistha College in Lanka. Aiming to make world class library for Bodoland University: HOD Library Department
The Bodoland University Library Department organized two days long colorful Book Exhibition for the first time for the greater interest of students, professors, research scholars, Ph.D. holders and readers at Bodoland University campus Deborgaon in Kokrajhar district. A total of 15 bookstalls were allotted to booksellers from Delhi, Allahabad, Silchar, Assam, Guwahati and other Bodoland Territorial Council areas. The exhibition was started at 25 and concluded on 26 November. Dr. Sangrang Brahma HoD Librarian of Bodoland University termed that the Bodoland University VC allotted Rs 1 lakh each to 18 departments to purchase departmental essential books so that they can keep in their library without a shortage of books in the university.

No shops can sale of tobacco products to minors within 100-yard radius of any educational institutions: Directorate of Health Services
Welcoming the decision of 'Pan Dukan Bebokhai Sanstha' for stopping the sale of Gutkha & Pan Masala in at least 6000 Pan Shops in Guwahati, Arundhati Deka (Director cum State Nodal Officer), Directorate of Health Services appreciated the step and claimed to be a historical step if they can stick into their pronouncement.
She also informed that sale of tobacco products to minors and within the 100-yard radius of any educational institutions which has been mandated by Sections 4 and 6 of the Cigarette and Other Tobacco Product Act (COTPA), 2003.
Notably, sale of Gutkha & Pan Masala to at least 6000 pan shops in Guwahati has been stopped by 'Pan Dukan Bebokhai Sanstha' from Wednesday onwards.
Meanwhile, the Food Safety Department in a notification on Wednesday has banned manufacture, storage, sale, transportation, display or distribution of items containing tobacco and other nicotine in the state of Assam for a period of one year under Clause (a) of Sub-Section 2 of Section 30 of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.च्या कडून The Sentinel News| 526 दृश्ये

Investigation is on.The arrested accused were identified as Paosanthang Guite alias Thang (Sharp Shooter) 33 years, Babul Das alias Dudu-44 years (veteran and wanted Poacher), Bimal Bania alias Babu-24 years, Sukhdev Mukhiya alias Gulna Bin (veteran and wanted Poacher)-55 years.
