    पाकिस्तान, बांग्लादेश, अफगानिस्तान, मोरक्को, इंडोनेशिया, जॉर्डन समेत 19 देशों ने 1922-1963 के बीच ही तीन तलाक को खत्म कर दिया था। इनमें से ज्यादातर इस्लामिक देश हैं।

    इससे स्पष्ट होता है कि तीन तलाक इस्लाम के खिलाफ नहीं है: श्री अमित शाह

    सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने तीन तलाक के मामले पर इंदौर की रहने वाली शाह बानो जी के पक्ष में 23 अप्रैल 1985 को फैसला दिया था।

    तब बहुमत के साथ श्री राजीव गांधी शासन कर रहे थे।

    उन्होंने वोट बैंक के दबाव में आकर कानून बनाया और सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फैसले को निरस्त करके तीन तलाक को मुस्लिम महिलाओं पर थोप दिया।
