Our opposition says that India's growth has stopped under UPA. Let us check the facts. The NDA government took India's GDP from 423.2 Billion US Dollars in 1998 to 617.6 Billion US Dollars in 2003. Whereas the UPA 1 (2004 - 2009) took the GDP up from 617.7 Billion US Dollars to 1,224.1 US Dollars. The economic growth continued during UPA 2 as well. GDP grew from 1,224.1 Billion US Dollars to 1,841.7 dollars by the end of 2013.
Not just GDP, Sensex grew from 5123.23 points to 22,551.49 points.
The country's economy has increased by 3 times in the last 10 years.

UPA way ahead of NDA in creating infrastructure
Shri Narendra Modi claims that India needs better infrastructure. Well, there is no one who can disagree with that. But Shri Modi doesn't seem to be aware that the UPA has been much more effective in building quality infrastructure as compared to the NDA.
The facts speak for themselves:
The UPA has added 4 times more power generation capacity than NDA.
Internet and broadband services have increased by more than 100 times during UPA's tenure. Over 17,394 kms of highways have been built by UPA and over 2 lakhs kms of new rural roads added to the rural road network. This translates to 3 times more than the NDA.
Today India is the 9th largest aviation market in the world. During UPA's tenure air passenger carried were 162 million as compared to 23 million during NDA's tenure.
Revenue by goods generated by Indian Railways during UPA tenure was Rs 6,77,614 million while NDA only generated Rs 2,74, 032 million.

The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) has systematically brought transparency in our politics and this one the major reasons why more are more aware today. UPA brought the Right To Information (RTI) act in 2005 and recently passed the Lok Pal act.

Decisions once in the hands of a few are now in the hands of everyone, said Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi. "Today nobody can refuse a poor man when he asks for a job.
