There is continued dialogue among the IT teams and they had to ask themselves when planning a new deployment was, “Should we use cloud or on-prem or to go for the hybrid” The differences between cloud and on-premises environments have grown increasingly irrelevant from the perspective of application developers and IT engineers. On-premises infrastructure typically requires major upfront investment, whereas cloud services are priced on a pay-as-you-go basis. Cloud environments also usually came with complicated fee schedules--such as add-on costs for data egress and API calls--that did not apply on prem. It is also noted to know, the cloud was inherently less secure than on-prem, there was a widespread perception that the cloud could be less secure in the sense that you shared infrastructure with other users. Secondly, there was also a sense that it was more difficult to meet compliance rules in the cloud. The reasoning here was usually that companies have less control over their infrastructure in the cloud, and/or that cloud providers do not provide services that meet compliance mandates.
The fact is, if one is moving to cloud ,they should not feel that their responsibility is over to the cloud companies/providers, rather it increases to many folds. Hybrid cloud refers to a mixed computing, storage, and services environment made up of on-premises infrastructure, private cloud services, and a public cloud—such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure—with orchestration among the various platforms. Using a combination of public clouds, on-premises computing, and private clouds in your data center means that you have a hybrid cloud infrastructure. Although cloud services can drive cost savings, their main value lies in supporting a fast-moving digital business transformation. The primary benefit of a hybrid cloud is agility. The Covid pandemic has bolstered digital traffic and consumption, and it will only be going up from here on. There’s a huge demand for data centers and not much supply is available right now. There is a lot of scope for new data centres to come up. Big investments have already started flowing in and that is an indication of how the supply will shape up here to meet the burgeoning demand.
Data Centers are the backbone of a digital revolution. The Government of India’s proposed Draft Data Center Policy aims to make India a ‘Global Data Center’. Data centers in India are emerging as the most attractive growth opportunity for global institutional investors and leading developers. Now various state governments have also been providing incentives to industry players for setting up data center parks. So far, a total $11.4 billion investment has been planned and committed for data centers development in the country and global firms’ contribution out of this is more than 65%, showed data from Cushman & Wakefield. This clearly indicates the rising preference for India among global data centre majors and is attributed to the data localisation norms and the government’s proposed new data centre policy aimed at simplifying the rules. The new data centre policy is also expected to provide necessary clearances and infrastructure in a time bound manner.

Ransomware should not be treated as a Cybercrime in every case. The context decides what it is actually meant for. The response of the state even if unstated makes it crystal clear, depending on how the state views a ransomware attack or a series of it or something unleashed globally. Launching an attack at the start of the July holiday can have its own connotation, besides the comfort of time that many of the victims would not even come to know of, until getting back to work on Monday. America is at war, another invisible enemy, the heat can be felt all over. It's like the Pandemic, the virus was not to be seen but the devastation put the country out of gear. The difference is that there is no vaccine for ransomware. The recent ransomware attacks have made organizations bleed. The biggest ransom is the complete loss of trust and credibility of business enterprises and the government.
The Kaseya ransomware attack was close on the heels of a discussion just last month with President Putin who had to stop providing safe haven to REvil and other ransomware in the relentless extortionary attack on businesses on US soil. The present ransomware attack also seems to be of REvil type origin. The US deems it as a National Security threat and so is it. The NSA said that the US President had directed the full resources of the government to investigate the incident. Since Friday, the United States Government has been working across inter-agency to assess the Kaseya ransomware incident and assist in the response. The attackers were able to exploit zero-day vulnerabilities in the VSA product to bypass authentication and run arbitrary command execution, it is undoubtedly an extraordinary situation and the President has urged companies to report to the Internet Crime Complaints Center.

जब से एलॉन मस्क ने ट्विटर खरीदा है तब से ही वे सुर्ख़ियों में बने हुए हैं। एलॉन मस्क ने आते ही ट्विटर के CEO पराग अग्रवाल के साथ पॉलिसी चीफ और सीनियर वकील विजया गड्डे समेत शीर्ष अधिकारियों को निकाल दिया था, तब से ट्विटर पर बड़े पैमाने पर छंटनी की अफवाहें चल रही थीं, जिसमें कहा जा रहा था कि कंपनी के 25 प्रतिशत से 75 प्रतिशत कर्मचारियों को बाहर निकाला जा सकता है। लेकिन जो उस समय अफवाहें लग रही थी अब सच होती नजर आ रही हैं। एलॉन मस्क द्वारा ट्विटर के कुल 7,500 स्टाफ में से करीब आधे को निकाल दिया गया है। भारत में ट्विटर के 200 से ज्यादा कर्मचारी थे, जिनमें से ज्यादातर को निकाल दिया गया है। इंजीनियरिंग, सेल्स, मार्केटिंग और कम्युनिकेशन टीमों में छंटनी की गई है। सूत्रों ने कहा कि भारत में मार्केटिंग और कम्युनिकेशन विभाग की पूरी टीम बर्खास्त कर दी गई है।

Twitter ने भारत में गंवाया कानूनी सुरक्षा का अधिकार, नए IT नियमों का पालन न करने पर सरकार की सख्ती!
माइक्रोब्लॉगिंग प्लेटफार्म ट्विटर को नए आईटी नियमों का पालन न करना भारी पड़ गया है। खबरें हैं कि भारत में ट्विटर को मिलने वाली लीगल प्रोटेक्शन यानी कानूनी सुरक्षा खत्म हो गई है। जानकारी के अनुसार ट्विटर की ओर से 25 मई से लागू हुए आईटी नियमों का अनुपालन अब तक नहीं किया गया, जिसके बाद उसके खिलाफ यह कार्रवाई की गई है। ट्विटर को ये कानूनी संरक्षण आईटी एक्ट की धारा 79 के तहत मिला हुआ था। इसके तहत ट्विटर को किसी भी क़ानूनी कारवाई, मानहानि या जुर्माने से छूट थी। लेकिन अब किसी भड़काऊ पोस्ट के लिए ट्विटर के अधिकारियों से पुलिस पूछताछ कर सकेगी। कानूनी संरक्षण खत्म होते ही ट्विटर के खिलाफ पहला मामला उत्तर प्रदेश के गाजियाबाद में दर्ज किया गया है।

Twitter on Thursday expressed concern over the “use of intimidation tactics by the police” after it gave manipulated media tag to tweets by spokesperson of ruling party BJP, and said it is concerned about employees in India and the potential threat to freedom of expression. Twitter said it will strive to comply with applicable law in India to keep its service available in the country. The microblogging platform said it plans to advocate for changes to elements of IT rules “that inhibit free, open public conversation”.
