14. ఆదివారం నుంచి పాపికొండలు విహారయాత్రను తాత్కాలికంగా నిలిపివేస్తున్నట్టు జలవనరులశాఖ జూనియర్ సూపరింటెండెంట్ బి.రత్నరాజు చెప్పారు. శుక్రవారం దేవీపట్నం మండలం వీరవరపులంక వద్ద గోదావరి నదిలో జరిగిన బోటు ప్రమాదం నేపథ్యంలో అధికారులు ఈ నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నారు. పాపికొండలకు వెళ్లే మొత్తం 68 బోట్లు, లాంచీల్లో ఏ ఒక్కదానికీ పాపికొండలకు వెళ్లడానికి అనుమతులు లేవన్నారు. త్వరలోనే బోట్లు, లాంచీలకు సంబంధించి జలవనరులశాఖ, రెవెన్యూ, పోలీసు, ఫైర్, మత్స్యశాఖ అధికారులు తనిఖీలు నిర్వహిస్తారన్నారు. ఆ తర్వాత అన్ని అర్హతలు ఉన్న వాటికే అనుమతులు మంజూరు చేస్తామని తెలిపారు. ఈ పక్రియ పూర్తవడానికి నాలుగైదు రోజులు పట్టనున్న నేపథ్యంలో పాపికొండలు విహారయాత్రను తాత్కాలికంగా నిలిపివేస్తున్నామన్నారు. పర్యాటకులు ఈ విషయాన్ని గమనించాలని ఆ శాఖ అధికారులు కోరుతున్నారు.
