राष्ट्रीय स्वंयसेवक संघ (RSS) प्रमुख मोहन भागवत ने देश में हो रही मॉब लिंचिंग की अलग-अलग घटनाओं को लेकर एक बड़ा बयान दिया है. उन्होंने कहा कि ‘भीड़ हत्या' (लिंचिंग) पश्चिमी तरीका है और देश को बदनाम करने के लिए भारत के संदर्भ में इसका इस्तेमाल नहीं किया जाना चाहिए. बता दें कि विजयदशमी के मौके पर यहां के रेशमीबाग मैदान में ‘शस्त्र पूजा' के बाद स्वयंसेवकों को संबोधित करते हुए मोहन भागवत ने यह बात कही. उन्होंने कहा कि 'लिंचिंग' शब्द की उत्पत्ति भारतीय लोकाचार से नहीं हुई, ऐसे शब्द को भारतीयों पर ना थोपा जाए. इस दौरान संघ प्रमुख ने कहा कि जम्मू कश्मीर को विशेष दर्जा देने वाले अनुच्छेद 370 के अधिकतर प्रावधान हटाने के लिए प्रधानमंत्री मोदी और गृह मंत्री शाह की सराहना की जानी चाहिए. यह एक साहसिक कदम था.

He said that 'lynching' is a Western method and should not be used in the context of India to discredit the country. Let me tell you that Mohan Bhagwat said this while addressing the volunteers after 'Shastra Puja' at the Reshammi Bagh ground here on Vijayadashami. He said that the term 'lynching' has not originated from Indian ethos, such a word should not be imposed on Indians. During this, the Sangh chief said that Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah should be commended for removing most of the provisions of Article 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir. It was a bold move.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday said lynching is a "western construct" and should not be used in the Indian context to defame the country.
Addressing the Vijayadashmi function of the RSS at Reshimbagh ground in Maharashtra's Nagpur city, he said the word 'lynching' does not originate from Indian ethos but comes from a separate religious text, and such terms should not be imposed on Indians.
He also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the government's move to abrogate Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, but said some vested interests do not want the country to be strong and vibrant.
Voicing his displeasure over several incidents of mob violence in the country, he said, "Lynching is not the word from Indian ethos, its origin is from a story in a separate religious text. We Indians trust in brotherhood. Don't impose such terms on Indians."
