Cyber espionage is a form of #cyberattack that steals sensitive data or intellectual property to gain an advantage over a competitive company or government entity. The cyber-espionage campaign lasts at least two years. The campaign’s success shows how dangerous software faults can be, even years after they’ve been identified and made public.
As per US Cyber Advisory, there is a very large size of espionage attack by the Chinese government-backed hackers who have broken into a number of major telecom businesses throughout the world by exploiting known software flaws in routers and other popular networking gear.
The Chinese hackers allegedly exploited networking devices from key vendors such as Cisco, Citrix, Zyxel, QNAP, DrayTek, MikroTik, D-Link, and Netgear in the recently disclosed cyber assault.
The US officials said that the hackers utilised the stolen devices to acquire full access to the network traffic of several private companies and government agencies once they had a foothold within their targets. However, the advisory did not list the identities of persons who were impacted by the campaign, nor did it describe the campaign’s impact. But the US authorities did point out the specific networking devices, such as routers and switches, that Chinese hackers are suspected of routinely targeting, exploiting severe and well-known flaws that basically gave the attackers free reign over their targets.

Mounting risks with the use of lithium-ion-batteries
India does not have enough lithium reserves for manufacturing lithium-ion batteries and almost all electric vehicles in the country run on batteries imported mostly from China. “Lithium content in a cell is less than 4 percent (including electrolytes). So major portion of the cells for localisation. Usage of lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles in the country are imported mostly from China. There have been at least four incidents of two-wheeler vehicles, powered by lithium-ion batteries bursting into flames. The question is what are Li-ion batteries, and how do they work? What caused these vehicles to catch fire? 90% of the world’s manufacturing of Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) is done in China. India doesn’t have a manufacturing facility for lithium-ion batteries and, as a result, all manufacturers import cells and battery packs. Indian original equipment manufacturers need government support for making lithium cells for the long term. Securing lithium supply could help in making batteries at a globally competitive price, with the potential to reduce the price of EVs. India is already the number one manufacturer and market for two and three wheelers in the world and, hence, this presents the opportunity to lead in the EV segment too. India has become one of the largest markets for electric vehicles. But it has not developed core manufacturing capability and has been a peripheral assembler where over 50% of the critical components have to be imported into the country for production. Replacing Chinese products is easier said than done, however, in the coming days, the import burden and technology dependence is going to ease in the coming days. The path breaking innovation by IIT-Delhi along with Indian technocrats for bringing Aluminium ion batteries could replace the Lithium batteries in the coming days.

The Indian technology industry crossed the $200 bn revenue mark, reaching $227 bn revenue in FY 2022, witnessing a $30 bn incremental revenue in the year with an overall growth rate of 15.5%. Recording the highest ever growth since 2011, all sub-sectors of the industry recorded double-digit growth across. Exports (including hardware) recorded a growth of 17.2% clocking revenue of $178 bn which is over 51% share of India’s total services exports. Industry experts say, Fiscal 2022 has been a breakthrough year for the Indian technology industry. India has emerged as a global hub for digital talent with over 5 million tech workforce.
The industry recorded nearly 10% estimated growth in direct employee pool in FY2022E with a highest-ever net addition of approximately 450,000 to its employee base. With 1 out of 3 employees already digitally skilled, the digital tech talent pool is at 1.6 million, growing at a CAGR of 25%. With massive focus on reskilling and upskilling, the Indian tech industry reskilled approximately 280k employees in FY2022. With over 36% of women employees, the Indian tech industry is one of the largest private-sector women employers in India with over 1.8 mn women in the workforce. CryptoTech to create 8 lakh jobs
As India looks at regulating cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and others, the crypto industry in the country has pegged a significant upside to the adoption of crypto technology (cryptotech). According to a Nasscom report published in partnership with crypto exchange WazirX titled Crypto Industry in India, cryptotech has the potential to create more than 8 lakh jobs by 2030, up from 50,000 individuals employed currently. Moreover, the industry is expected to reach $241 million in size by 2030 in India. So far, $6.6 billion have been invested by Indian retail investors in different crypto assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, etc., the report noted. The industry, which includes crypto applications in trading, P2P payments, remittances, and retail among others has grown by 39 per cent in the last five years in India.
The CryptoTech industry in India has not only demonstrated a positive impact at the grassroots levels but is emerging as a fastest growing technology sub-sector. India provides the most unique ecosystem to CryptoTech to play a transformative role in strengthening key priority areas such as healthcare, safety, digital identification, trade & finance, remittances and help in addressing pandemic-induced challenges, says Nasscom. However, the Reserve Bank of India had repeatedly noted its concerns about cryptos and conveyed the same to the government for the final decision with respect to regulations. Meanwhile, the Nasscom report added that the crypto industry can potentially create an economic value addition of $184 billion in the form of Investments and cost savings by 2030. “Our number of users from Tier-II and Tier-III cities have grown by 2,648 per cent and contributed to 55 per cent of total signups on WazirX in 2021. Crypto has immense potential to contribute to our $5 trillion economy vision, as per WazirX.

Bhumi Pednekar recently appeared in the comedy Thank You For Coming and the film invited some extreme reactions from the viewers. While some praised the film for its bold concept, some shamed it for that. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble host Akash Bhatnagar, Bhumi spoke about the latter group of people and slammed them for the shaming. She expressed her disappointment towards people who didn’t criticise the film but its intent. The actress discussed the prevalent gender bias and how people never took offence when she was a part of such stories told from a male perspective. She pointed out how Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 was supported by the same people who shamed her film, when somewhere they dealt with the same subject. Bhumi revealed if not getting any support from women within the industry disappointed her.
