The proposed brewery factory in Balarampur village in Dhenkanal district has been scrapped by CM Naveen Patnaik. But, over 500 trees were felled and that’s the biggest pain in this entire saga. The RDC has proposed massive tree plantation in the area to compensate for the loss. But, is it easy? It will take at least 30 years to grow the trees to the position they were when cut for the beer factory.
The political atmosphere has been charged up over this issue on the expected lines. Leaders and political parties do not want to let this opportunity go. And, BJD is planning a counter to build public perception on this matter. It was the turn of expelled BJD leader Dr. Damodar Rout who went to Balarampur today and planted some saplings in Jhinkargadi forest. He not only called the Government “blind”, but also blamed a senior IAS officer for this mess.

Odisha has land for beer unit, not for Paika rebellion memorial: Pradhan
Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday hit out at the Odisha government, saying it has land for beer factory but not for a Paika rebellion memorial.
Pradhan said the Centre has repeatedly requested the state to make available 50 acre land for the construction of memorial at Barunei foothills.
"The state government failed to provide 50 acres of land for the memorial despite repeated requests from the Union government. But, you (the Chief Minister) provided 600 acres for a beer factory for which thousands of trees were cut down in Dhenkanal," said Pradhan.
The Minister was addressing the 119th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Harekrushna Mahatab here.
Paik rebellion, also known as Paika Bidroha, was an armed rebellion against the British East India Company's rule in Odisha in 1817.
The Centre and state are commemorating 200 years of the rebellion with a series of events.
Pradhan also criticized the state government for not giving permission to install a statue of Harekrushna Mahatab at his village in Agarpada of Bhadrak district.By POLITICAL PREMIER LEAGUE| 16855 views

Damodar Rout Likely To Name New Party ‘Biju Samatakranti Dal’
Former minister and BJD leader, Damodar Rout announced that the name of his new political party is likely to be ‘Biju Samatakranti Dal.’
While speaking to mediapersons in Paradip today, Rout said “We are going to form a regional party. Even though the name has not been finalised, I have suggested ‘Biju Samatakranti Dal’. Other members of the party may also come up with other names.”
The expelled BJD leader had announced about his new party last month stating that it will be named after former Chief Minister late Biju Patnaik.
Ever since Rout’s expulsion for his alleged anti-party activities, he has been on the centre stage of Odisha politics. The senior leader was expelled in September just days after alleging multiple instances of corruption in various departments of the State government.

In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble host Akash Bhatnagar, Bhumi spoke about the latter group of people and slammed them for the shaming. She expressed her disappointment towards people who didn’t criticise the film but its intent. The actress discussed the prevalent gender bias and how people never took offence when she was a part of such stories told from a male perspective. She pointed out how Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 was supported by the same people who shamed her film, when somewhere they dealt with the same subject. Bhumi revealed if not getting any support from women within the industry disappointed her.
