The BFSI landscape is transforming dramatically
Banking and Financial Institutions (BFSIs) have been at the forefront of #digitaltransformation initiatives with data at the epicenter of banking innovation, in an attempt to fuel performance and improve customer experiences. Competition from a variety of segments including fintech startups, alternate credit companies, retail giants and internet behemoths, complemented by globalization are accelerating digitization at banks. India’s Banking, Financial Services and Insurance industry has been ahead of the curve in recognizing this shift and bridging the critical gaps with transitions that not only boost system resilience but also provide a general ability to innovate at scale and speed. The new financial architecture created by digital assets will have profound consequences for banks by revolutionizing how money is created, transferred, stored, and owned. This BFSI landscape is transforming dramatically. Aggressive competition from new age fintech startups, growing digital adoption amongst BFSI customers, and the post-pandemic rush to re-establish customer value proposition are driving this evolution. Digital banking surged with 68% of Indian consumers using online or mobile banking to conduct financial transactions. 48% of respondents expect to use contactless payments instead of cash or card in the post-COVID world. The new normal is forcing BFSIs to implement digitization beyond the customer-facing layer, and develop an integrated architecture encompassing all aspects of banking.
Customers are looking for ways to transact while prioritizing their health and safety. Banks need to leverage technology, AI, machine learning, data, and human resources to innovate and digitize the delivery of products and services providing seamless, contactless experiences. Secondly, BFSIs embrace large-scale technology upgradation and digitization in an attempt to limp back to normalcy. गुजरात के कच्छ में स्थित मुंद्रा पोर्ट पिछले कुछ दिनों से सुर्ख़ियों में बना हुआ है। दरअसल, यहां डायरेक्टरेट ऑफ़ रेवेन्यू इंटेलिजेंस यानि (डीआरआई) और कस्टम विभाग द्वारा भारी मात्रा में हेरोइन पकड़ी गई थी, जिसकी कीमत हजारों करोड़ रुपए बताई जा रही है। मामले में पाकिस्तान-तालिबान ड्रग नेक्सस का हाथ होने की बात भी कही गई। इधर, सोशल मीडिया पर हेरोइन की खेप को उद्योगपति गौतम अडानी से जोड़ा जाने लगा। घटना के 5 दिन बाद अडानी समूह ने एक बयान जारी कर DRI और कस्टम विभाग का आभार जता दिया। आखिर ये पूरा मामला क्या है और इस पर इतना बवाल क्यों हो रहा है? आइए समझते हैं।

CBI arrests ADG of Ludhiana DRI, 2 others in Rs 25 lakh graft case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Additional Director General (ADG) of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and two private persons in a graft case with Rs 25 lakh in cash. A senior CBI official said the agency has arrested the ADG DRI named Chandrasekhar, who was posted in Punjab's Ludhiana, along with two other persons with the bribe amount of Rs 25 lakh. The official said that the central probe agency has registered a case on a complaint.

Overvaluation of Coal Imports: AICC Press Briefing By Jairam Ramesh at Congress HQ
Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) is probing approximately 40 companies for overvaluation of Indonesian coal imports.
This overvaluation of coal imports amounts to ₹29,000Cr.
Among these 40 companies, Mr. Narendra Modi's industrialist friend Gautam Adani's company, too, is included.
DRI issued Letters Rogatory(LRs) to Singapore seeking its help to access documents lying with overseas branches of SBI bank, where coal import transactions took place.
Adani firm had asked Singapore Court to quash the LRs issued by DRI, but Singapore court rejected the plea. Now Adani firm asks Bombay HC to stall the DRI probe.
An SIT must be set up to ensure objective and time-bound enquiry.

A jeweller, Gaurav Gupta, allegedly committed suicide after jumping off the sixth floor CGO complex in south Delhi, after a raid was conducted at offices of jewellers in different parts of the city. The floor of the building also has the office of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence. DRI officials say that the man was neither called for questioning nor arrested after the raid.
