In India, #cryptocurrency, metaverse, and non-fungible tokens or NFTs are the most popular and desired fields for a Web3 career. Indian users interested in working in Web3 show a stronger passion for #metaverse, NFT, and blockchain-based gaming, over-indexing the global average.
As per KuCoin, the finding unveils details about India’s promising talent pool that bears the potential to lead the world in the Web3 space. The youth is fuelling the future of Web3 in India and Indian Web3 professionals are younger than their global counterparts.
72% of #Web3 professionals in India are very happy with their careers so far, recognizing the industry’s benefits such as space for growth and innovation and better welfare. Additionally, 60% of surveyed Indian users who never worked in Web3 are very interested in exploring the career, mainly motivated by space for professional growth and a better salary package in the industry.
The report flagged the shortage of women-led communities, educational resources, and the stress of fast-paced industry as key challenges for Indian women to work or invest in Web3. As per the survey findings, Indian youth have huge potential in disrupting the Web3 space.
However, it has been noticed that there are fewer women-led Web3 communities as compared to male. The survey also shows that many women are hesitant to engage in Web3 due to perceived limited access to related educational resources and potential stress from the fast-paced industry.

Technology is ubiquitous. It dangles many advantages such as costs, speed, fewer human interventions etc. Technology is taking over the CEO’s thinking, and influencing him/her. Take for example, bank CEOs. However, in adopting technology, they should not forget that they are first and foremost bankers and not technologists; that they should not be lured by technology to think of technology first, but must think of banking, customers, partners, delivery chains and society first. Stakeholders and banking must come over technology. Fundamental thinking is important. i.e., a focus on banking. Then technology becomes a slave and not the driver of their banking business. Technology can become a value destroyer when CEOs think they are running technology companies. This thinking has to be avoided, and banking traditional thinking must endure, using technology as a tool. An expert says that technology is delivering more products and that they have to be sure to understand the product is a banking product and not technology. If CEOs do not understand the banking product, technology cannot deliver the right solution. Technology has become a business disruptor, giving rise to opportunities for many banks and start-ups. Artificial intelligence is also becoming a core function of technology, all potential value creators. Using Fintech and 3rd party software is often attractive for banks, for apps, products etc. Blockchains, biometrics, cloud banking, chatbots and zero trust systems, are all being used now.

The global semiconductor shortage has impacted many industries for more than a year for the supply of everyday devices starting from smartphones, personal computers, game consoles, automobiles, medical devices etc. and affecting about more than 169 industries. The average modern car can have between 1,400 and 1,500 chips, some even up to 3,000. Cars account for 15% of global chip production, while personal electronics account for around 50%. Chip revenues are even more skewed towards non-automotive sectors. The chip shortage is expected to cost the global automotive industry dx$210 billion in revenue in 2021. At the start of the pandemic, car manufacturers incorrectly predicted that sales would drop, cancelled chip orders, and were unprepared to meet demand. Chip manufacturers had more commitments from the IT sector, which reduced capacity for car chips. At the same time, the global chip crisis made it difficult to acquire a new graphics card, while an increase in #cryptocurrencymining in 2021 increased the demand even more. Finding gaming PC components became more difficult and more expensive, and as gaming PCs rely on either AMD or Nvidia to make their discrete (sometimes called dedicated) graphics, both of those companies refreshed their lineups during the pandemic with popular new models that are very difficult to find or priced 50–300% above MSRP.
The lack of chips has been caused by booming demand for tech gear, in large part because of the pandemic, and winter weather in Texas and a fire in Japan have added to the problem. It’s been a boon for companies such as Applied Materials Inc. and Lam Research Corp. that produce the equipment semiconductor makers need to boost output. One positive aspect of the chip shortage - with demand for consumer electronics as strong as it is, it gives companies the power to raise prices and pass on higher costs.
