Around 22,000 devotees are expected to visit the temple to offer prayers today. સુરતના સ્વામીનારાયણ મંદિરમાં ઉજવાયો શાકોત્સવ
સુરતના કતારગામ વિસ્તારમાં આવેલા સ્વામીનારાયણ મંદિરના 25મા રજત જયંતિ વર્ષની ઉજવણી નિમિત્તે શાકોત્સવનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. આ શાકોત્સવનો લાભ 25,000 હરિભક્તોએ લીધો હતો. ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે, સ્વામીનારાયણ સંપ્રદાયમાં શિયાળાની ઋતુમાં શાકોત્સવ ઉજવવાની પરંપરા દાયકાઓથી ચાલી રહી છે. શાકોત્સવ કરવા પાછળનું એક મહત્ત્વ પણ છે. શાકોત્સવની કથાની વાત કરવામાં આવે તો ભગવાન સ્વામીનારાયણ જ્યારે સૌરાષ્ટ્રના ગામોની મુલાકાત લેતા લેતા લોહિયા ગામમાં પધાર્યા હતા ત્યારે ભગવાનના આગમનની ખુશીમાં આસપાસના ગામના હરિભક્તો રીંગણા લઈને આવ્યા હતા. આ રીંગણાનો ભગવાને સ્વીકાર કર્યો હતો અને રીંગણાનું શાક બનાવીને હરિભક્તોને જમાડ્યા હતા. ભગવાનના હાથે બનેલું રીંગણાનું શાક ખાઈને ભક્તો ખુશખુશાલ થઈ ગયા હતા. જેથી આ ખુશીમાં હરિભક્તો દ્વારા દર વર્ષે શાકોત્સવની ઉજવણી કરવાની પરંપરા શરૂ થઈ હતી.
કતારગામ સ્થિત સ્વામીનારાયણ મંદિરના 25મા રજત જયંતિના અવસરે શાકોત્સવનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. આ શાકોત્સવનો લાભ 25,000 હરિ ભક્તોએ લીધો હતો. સૌપ્રથમ ભગવાનને થાળ ધરાવ્યા બાદ હરિભક્તોએ રીંગણાના શાક અને બાજરાના રોટલાનો સ્વાદ માણ્યો હતો. આ શાકોત્સવ માટેની તૈયારી છેલ્લા 4 મહિનાથી કરવામાં આવી રહી હતી. આ તૈયારીની સંપૂર્ણ જવાબદારી 400 પુરુષ અને 350 મહિલાઓએ ઉઠાવી હતી. આજે યોજાયેલા આ શાકોત્સવમાં 125 મણ બાજરો, 90 કિલો માખણ, 450 ચૂલા, 2700 લીટર છાશ, 22 ઘીના ડબ્બા, 190 કિલો રીંગણા, 60 તેલના ડબ્બાનો ઉપયોગ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો.
