Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Bill is set to be introduced during the upcoming Monsoon Session of parliament for consideration and passage.
The draft of the Bill, circulated for consultation by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in November 2022, was fraught with problems and was criticised both by transparency activists and those campaigning for the right to privacy.

अगर आप उत्तर प्रदेश (Uttar Pradesh) में रहते हैं और आप राशन कार्ड (Ration Card) धारक भी हैं तो ये खबर आपके लिए है. दरअसल कार्डधारक होने के बावजूद राशन न लेने वालों के कार्ड अब निरस्त करने की प्रक्रिया शुरू की जा रही है. ऐसा करने के पीछे मकसद ये है कि सार्वजनिक वितरण प्रणाली (Public Distribution System) के तहत पीएम गरीब कल्याण योजना का लाभ ज्यादा ये ज्यादा पात्र लोगों को पहुंचाया जा सके. गौरतलब है कि प्राथमिक जांच के दौरान चार लाख से ज्यादा राशनकार्ड धारकों में से एक प्रतिशत कार्ड धारक ऐसे पाए गए हैं जिन्होंने पिछले राशन नहीं लिया था.बता दें कि इस कवायद के तहत 6 महीने और उससे ज्यादा समय से राशन न लेने वाले कार्डधारकों का राशन कार्ड निरस्त कर दिया जाएगा. उनकी जगह पर अन्य पात्र लोगों का इसका लाभ पहुंचाने की योजना तैयार की गई है. इस लागू करने के लिए बस शासन की मंजूरी की जरूरत है.हालांकि ऐसे कार्डधारकों को चिह्नित करते समय ये ध्यान रखने के लिए भी कहा गया है कि कोरोना महामारी की वजह से कुछ लोगों ने जगह बदली है, ऐसे में लिस्ट में नाम डालते समय ये ध्यान रखा जाए कि उन्हीं का नाम सूची में शामिल हो जो राशन लेने के लिए इच्छुक नहीं है. वहीं इस संबंध में डीएसओ अभय सिंह ने कहा कि जांच जारी है और जून के बाद इस पर फैसला लिया जाएगा.

Right to food is now a legal right in India.
There is no place for hunger in India. Not Anymore. Vowing to eradicate hunger, Congress led UPA introduced the hallmark Right to Food Security. Giving wheat, rice and pulses at heavily subsidised rates to two-thirds of India, all poor people regardless of religion, caste or creed will be eligible for this scheme. "UPA government guarantees that any poor person deprived of food will get food grains for Re 1 per kg" says Rahul Gandhi. Discussing the plight of labourers, Rahul Gandhi says Right to Food will make sure their family gets food on a daily basis. Right to food has a special focus on nutritional support to women and children.
Food security bill was introduced to overcome inefficiencies arising in the existing Public Distribution Scheme (PDS). In PDS, over 20-25% of food grain is siphoned off. We believe if we give the right to food to the people then this will drastically reduce.
