Import restrictions on laptops and tablets affect India!!
The Indian government has imposed import restrictions on laptops, tablets, and servers on August 3, 2023. The import of these products would be allowed against a valid license for restricted imports. The unexpected regulation left electronic industry giants in a state of disruption and uncertainty. Just after the announcement, all the partners rushed to the tech distributors for placing the order. All most the stock with the distributors ( Laptop and tablets) comes to negative.
The government has deferred the implementation of its import limitations on laptops, tablets and servers by three months, and the implementation of the new import rule won’t go into effect till October 31.

By 2025, 30% of critical infrastructure organizations will experience a security breach that will result in the halting of operations or mission-critical cyber-physical systems, as per the recent report from Gartner. Critical infrastructure security has become a primary concern for governments around the world, with the U.S., U.K. EU, Canada and Australia each identify sectors deemed ‘critical infrastructure’, for example, communications, transport, energy, water, healthcare and public facilities. In some countries, critical infrastructure is state-owned, while in others, like the U.S., private industry owns and operates a much larger portion of it. The recent massive cyber attack on Australian energy Infra by Chinese hackers, were just minutes away from shutting down power to three million Australian homes when they were foiled at the last obstacle. If the attack is successful, it will knock off electricity to between 1.4 and 3 million homes, with no way of knowing how long it will take to retake control of the generators. Experts say, what is the need to go for the complete automation of the Operational Technology. Operational technology, monitors and manages industrial process assets and manufacturing/industrial equipment. Essentially, OT is the hardware and software that keeps things, for instance factories, power plants, facility equipment etc. running.

Government notifies Information Technology Rules 2021
Amidst growing concerns around lack of transparency, accountability and rights of users related to digital media and elaborate consultation with the public and stakeholders, the Information Technology Rules 2021 has been framed. While finalizing these Rules, both the Ministries of Electronics and Information Technology and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting undertook elaborate consultations among themselves in order to have a harmonious, soft-touch oversight mechanism in relation to social media platform as well as digital media and OTT platforms etc. Part- II of these Rules shall be administered by Ministry of Electronics and IT, while Part-III relating to Code of Ethics and procedure and safeguards in relation to digital media shall be administered by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Assigning responsibility and defining a process for grievance recognition and redressal including appointments of designated person in social media organisations. This is akin to ascribing responsibility to an editor in a newspaper, but more detailed in terms of removal of content and redressal. Speed of spread is vital component of misinformation, disinformation & hate content on social media. The rules do not define content from these perspectives, though it mentions fake news and its use by criminal and anti-national elements. It says clearly that safe harbour provisions will not apply if the companies do not follow due process to monitor and redress or remove content considered objectionable. The rules distinguish between small and large (significant ) social media intermediaries in terms of diligence and compliance. Digital news platforms made responsible for their content like in print media, same code will apply.

She expressed her disappointment towards people who didn’t criticise the film but its intent. She pointed out how Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 was supported by the same people who shamed her film, when somewhere they dealt with the same subject. Bhumi revealed if not getting any support from women within the industry disappointed her.
