94% of Indians surveyed strongly believe that digital wallets have made shopping easier. The acceleration of all things digital has made Indians turn to digital and contactless payments, digital wallets, digital gift cards, and QR codes as the pandemic reshaped consumer behaviour. India has emerged as a forerunner in mobile commerce adoption in comparison to its global counterparts. The survey revealed that 54% of the respondents will spend more money if they can use digital payment methods. Frequent online shopping is a trend that is seeing no downfall in 2021, with India ahead of other countries. The survey observes that 93% of Indian respondents prefer using digital wallets regularly as compared to their global counterparts’ average of 55%. 94% of Indian shoppers reported that digital wallets have made shopping easier and the vast majority (98%)have shopped at an online-only retailer in the past 12 months. The pandemic has given impetus to the adoption of digital payments in India, and consumers are increasingly embracing innovative ways of transacting using their mobile devices.
Apart, from the widespread adoption of mobile wallets, digital gift cards, rewards, and loyalty points, consumers are increasingly seeking retailers that have embraced digital and contactless payments. The pandemic has intensified the demand for digital wallets as contactless payment is reckoned as the new normal. India being a very high cash-driven market, the digital payment industry is still very nascent, yet fast-evolving. Opportunities for retailers have increased multi-fold in the last year. Consumers are drawn to retailers that offer fast, seamless, and secure digital payments. As we start to hit more of a stride in our economic recovery, the winners will be the merchants that cater to the everyday digital payment preferences of today’s shopper.

In April 2018, #RBI banned banks and other financial institutions from supporting #cryptocurrency transactions, as a result of the news that these digital coins were being used for fraudulent activities. However, in March 2020, the Supreme Court of India slashed down the ban on the grounds of being unconstitutional. According to various reports, Indian citizens are holding around INR 10,000 crore (USD 1.5Bn) in #cryptocurrencies .But as there is no clarity regarding the income tax issue for the gains made via crypto, the need for cryptocurrency regulations is now the new buzz. After giving much thought, the government has now decided to take firm actions. The GOI will soon form a new panel to analyze the possibility of regulating cryptocurrency in India, with the thought of revisiting old views. This new panel will allegedly consider using blockchain technology, new approaches to cryptocurrency as a digital asset instead of currency, and examine ways to operationalize the RBI’s proposal for its 'Digital Rupee'.
‘Official Digital Currency Bill – 2021’ is the proposed crypto regulation that will suspend all private cryptocurrencies and work on laying the foundation for the launch of an “official digital currency” by RBI. This bill was introduced in the Parliament’s Union Budget session, this year. Thinking on the fate of Indian crypto startups: Currently, India has more than 200 blockchain startups. Out of those, many have now been acquired by Binance, a global crypto asset management and trading company, including #Unocoin, #Zebpay, and #WazirX, while leading US-based crypto company #Coinbase has been investing in Indian startups. However, these activities are no longer limited to passive investments.

There are many use cases, where we have seen 5G has the power to transform current industries, create new ones, and influence societies with quicker speed, lesser latency, and greater capacity. In amalgamation, these 5G innovations are likely to change the way individuals connect with everything and each other. In the future, the technology will significantly impact industries such as the focus on safer transportation, banking systems, traffic control, remote healthcare, agriculture, digitised logistics and more. Hence, 5G is poised to transform human life by giving faster download speeds and connectivity for billions of devices, especially in the sphere of virtual reality, the internet of things, and artificial intelligence.

भारत सरकार के नए आईटी नियमों को लेकर हाल ही में संयुक्त राष्ट्र के कुछ एक्सपर्ट्स ने सवाल उठाए थे। अब भारत की ओर से इनका जवाब भेजा गया है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र में भारत के स्थाई मिशन ने साफ किया है कि नए आईटी कानून सामान्य सोशल मीडिया यूजर्स को सशक्त करने के लिए बनाए गए हैं। सरकार का कहना है कि सोशल मीडिया के गलत इस्तेमाल की वजह से उसे नए आईटी नियमों को लागू करने को मजबूर होना पड़ा। लेकिन ये नियम सरकार ने लंबे विचार-विमर्श के बाद तैयार किए हैं।
